Subject: MINT RANT

Now I am not one to think the mint or the Canadian Government are up to no good but a guy really has to wonder??? Ok now I found my soap box and have dusted it off for this message. For those of you who remember my long winded rants ...after many years have past since my last rant here goes my MINT RANT.

I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THE MINT WOULD do some of the things they do however I must suspect some scheme is in the works with some of the things they have done with our Canadian Bank Notes.

To start with the poly notes that came out we are told last much longer than the old notes (at what cost). Was that the only reason they brought these notes out ? I have a few theories on these notes. A while back a new craze was on the rise called Money Tracking were you log onto a site and enter the notes serial number and then stamp the note with the site address and when someone else sees the stamped note and goes to the site and enters the serial number the site tells where the bill has traveled. So these poly notes regular stamp ink will simply wipe off ...so maybe a deterrent for money stampers? Or was it a ploy to make work for programmers or system design companies who supply bill readers for self serve machines, payment systems , gaming devices to make some more money.

We have heard the mints story but do we truly believe them?

Now along comes are first New Bill with very nice art work and a Woman on the bill who is not our Queen (I have my own views on this however maybe later) or a member of our Government. What she did was a start in the right direction for Human Rights and rest assured I Like the bank note if it was only printed the same way all are bills are. Why on earth did they have to turn the printing vertical when for years our bills have been horizontal (landscape). Once again are the programmers or bill reader manufactures / system designers in need of more work. I have heard these bills are causing problems in machines that take in the money and also the ones that dispense the money.

I really do not know what to think about these changes and the fact they will take years before all bills are printed the same so now electronic readers will have to be able to read both types of bills.

Please tell me what the Mint really has planned next? Why?
