U-TURN
Has anyone heard news of the mint switching to a $5 coin? I recall hearing this a couple years back, and then overheard someone saying the other day that it is happening in the near future.

Last I heard was news that they were about to roll out a new $5 bill and they delayed it indefinitly. Check this out, from CDNPAPERMONEY.COM
"Dear Mr. Wallis,
Thank you for your e-mail inquiry requesting information on the announcement of the issue date for the new $5 note.
While counterfeiting levels remain relatively low in Canada, ensuring bank note security is challenged by the rapidly and ever-improving technology available to counterfeiters. At present, the Bank is pursuing its ongoing research into bank note security issues with the objective to ensure that the Bank continues to deliver on its commitment to provide Canadians with the most secure bank notes possible. As a result, the planned launch of the $5 note is on hold.
I hope this information is helpful and you are welcome to post this message on your Web site.
Best regards,
Currency Education Bank of Canada"

you guys really are on top of things. Do you have any other hobbies besides money :)
Not me. I go to work, collect MONEY from customers. Count MONEY. Record MONEY. Enter MONEY in this database. Argue about stats on MONEY. Go to bed and dream about MONEY. Occasionally, I actually get to spend MONEY of my own.
That is what I thought, you do have a very diverse life :) I love to see dedication, no worries i have developed an addiction as well. maybe we can start a support group.
I love money, i have loved money since 5 years ago, maybe more. My life is alot like Idjits, except, no collecting money.
mmMBeer: read "The Wealthy Barber". You're going to do well.
read "The Wealthy Barber
Whats that?
A book written by a barber who retired early. Explains simple strategies re. money which will allow you to retire at 30. Strategies most of us know but ignore when it's too late. I'll retire when I'm 90.
hMMMM. ILL CHECK IT OUT.
mmMBeer: I know now that when you say you'll "check it out" you do; in a way that really gives definition to that word "check". I'd hire you for a research project in an instance.
