Hi there its been ages since my last hit so I thought I would post a Go Sens GO did you know its been 14 years since we have had a cup winner from canada what a draught almost can relate as my hits its been such awhile… Last Team to win the cup anybody? les habitaints .

cheer for the team with more canadians on the roster… especially ones from saskatchewan! that is how i judge how canadian a team is.

besides… no team from california has ever won the cup… that's what i call a DROUGHT. :)

I'm with rudyk on this one. The Ducks have more Canadian players then the Sens. Also the Ducks knocked out the Canucks, so at least I can say we were beat by the champs!

The NHL assumed control over the Stanley Cup in 1927 and the 1st team to win was the 1927 Boston Bruins

NHL assumed control in 1926. Ottawa was the first winner defeating Boston.

I don't care who wins. It's either a first time winner or a team that hasn't won in 80 years. Either way, I just want to see a good series.

Pooga found the link that I was looking at about a week ago when I was curious about the cup winners.. Recent & past.
I started looking at the first few winners & was puzzled.
I thought the original 4 teams were Montreal, Toronto, Detroit & Boston. So where is Ottawa in that?

I'm leaning towards the Ducks because of a Manitoba connection. Teemu Selanne (former Wpg Jet), Randy Carlyle (former Jet & Manitoba Moose coach), Dustin Penner (from Winkler Mb). It wouldn't bother me if Ottawa won. Bring the cup back to Canada since Montreal knocked off the LA Kings. The Kings won game 1 in that series just like the Ducks did last night. Can history repeat itself for Ottawa's sake?

To me its not about Canadian players or provincial connections. I just cannot bring myself to cheer for a team called the Ducks.
