I must be SOOO dumb.

Now my Windows XP is gone and something weird and wonderful has taken over. 95?? And had Messenger last night but it's gone again. Somebody please help me!!

Did you used to have windows 95 before an installation of XP? If so, you never deleted '85, just wrote over, and now it's come back for some reason.. If you have an XP disk (ONLY IF YOU HAVE AN XP DISK DO THIS).. You have to delete '95 completely. I'm not sure how, but wipe it all out. Than your computer has no opperating system, so insert the disk, and shut down. When start back up it shall run the XP disk and install that. Save any real important stuff to a disk.

It also depends if your version of XP is the full version or the upgrade. If it is the upgrade, win95 must not be deleted!
