Heh, thanks for the notification but we are all aware of WW. But basically, we are two separate groups, with very little, if any, crossover. In computer terms, I'd call it an XOR. :)

Also, please refrain from cross-posting over multiple message areas… everyone here reads all the various sections.

I will take this opportunity to remind everyone that our two sites can co-exist. I encourage you NOT to post critisisms (either here or there) of their site and I definitely discourage you from posting any kind of "come use our site" or from attempting to "convert" any other their users. They like their site, we like ours. We CAN co-exist. And to save you all the trouble, I just posted the following on the WW site:

: I wanted to post a message encouraging : their users to convert but I couldn't be bothered : signing up just to post a message. Our users like our site and you guys like yours. Last time people tried to "convert" people from the other site(s), flame wars ensued. Let's just let each other be and all will be good. No one likes people knocking on their doors at dinner time trying to "convert" you to their religion, so why do something similar over a website? In a grown-up, tolerant world where Canadians and Americans fight side by side on foreign soil, I'm sure that our two sites can co-exist.

Incidentally, if you're wondering why I don't allow anonymous postings, there's the reason. The user above said they couldn't be bothered registering so they could post a message telling us to convert. If someone wants to get information or post some news or something along that lines, then they will register. I am a firm believer in anonymous-ness in general but in a case like this where we have a great group of people here, a community on might say, removing the ability to post anonymously helps maintain the integrity of the forums.

Which reminded me about this little joke which came around after the Olympics:

Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God went missing for six days. Eventually, Michael the Archangel found him, resting on the seventh day.

He inquired of God, "Where have you been?"

God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds, "Look Michael, look what I've made."

Archangel Michael looked puzzled and said, "What is it?"

"It's a planet," replied God, "and I've put LIFE on it. I'm going to call it Earth and it's going to be a great place of balance."

"Balance?" inquired Michael, still confused.

God explained, pointing to different parts of Earth, "For example, Northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth while Southern Europe is going to be poor; the Middle East over there will be a hot spot, while Antarctica is a place of cooperation. Over there I've placed a continent of white people, over there is a continent of red people, over there is a continent of yellow people and over there is a continent of black people,"

God continued, pointing to different countries. "This one will be extremely hot and arid while this one will be very cold and covered in ice."

The Archangel, impressed by Gods work, then pointed to a large landmass in the top corner and asked, "What's that one?"

Ah," said God. "That's Canada, the most glorious place on Earth. There are beautiful mountains, lakes, rivers, streams and an exquisite coastline. The people from Canada are going to be modest, intelligent and humorous and they're going to be found travelling the world. They'll be extremely sociable, hardworking and high achieving, and they will be known throughout the world as diplomats and carriers of peace. I'm also going to give them super-human, undefeatable ice hockey players who will be admired and feared by all who come across them."

Michael gasped in wonder and admiration but then proclaimed; " What about balance, God? You said there would be BALANCE!"

God replied wisely. "Wait until you see the loud-mouth bastards I'm putting next to them…."

Which reminds me of another Post-Olympic story I heard….

On the Monday after the Olympics, two American hockey writers were getting on a flight to Seattle. One had the window seat, and the other had the centre seat. Just before takeoff, a Canadian hockey writer, who had been obviously partying, sat in the aisle seat.

The Americans just stared out the window pointedly ignoring him. After takeoff, the Canadian sat back, removed his shoes, and tucked them under the seat. Then he turned to the Yanks and said, "Listen guys, we can't ignore each other forever. I have to go back and use the facilities. Just to show that there are no hard feelings, can I buy you a beer?"

One American looked up, relented, and said, "Sure. Thanks."

After the Canadian left, the American reached down, grabbed a shoe, spit in it and returned it under the seat.

The Canadian returned with a beer, and gave it to the American saying, "There's a bit of a line-up there, so I brought you a beer so it won't get warm." To the second American he asked, "Are you sure I can't get you one?"

The other American thought about it a moment and said that he wouldn't mind one after all.

As soon as the Canadian had left, he grabbed the other shoe, spit in it, and replaced it.

When the Canadian returned, he passed over the second beer and sat down. A few minutes later, he remarked, "Gentlemen, we can't let a little thing like a hockey game turn into animosity between nieghbours! We have to stop the name-calling, the pouting, the spitting in shoes, the pissing in beers…"

He He, sounds like something i would do. Kidding, but I really am glad we beat those damn Americans.
