marking bills

Once again, I'd like to remind everyone that marking bills, though not illegal, should be done such that it doesn't make the bills questionable or look ugly or whatever. So for me that would include such thinks as drawing a circle around the series or serial number and so on. I say this because every once in a while I receive emails as such:

Hey you f***ing idiots, Thanks for defacing the $10 bill I got - as a result I've been unable to use it at a number of stores because they refuse to accept it. Next time you come up with such a brilliant idea, keep it to yourselves. Think twice before you stamp your annoying crap and **** it up for other people. **** YOU, you *******

While I obviously can't control what you do directly, I ask that you please try and refrain from getting out of control when marking your bills. If getting hits is THAT important that you need to stamp the heck out of your bill, then you aren't really getting the jist of the site.

I am both not surprised and yet surprised by such a remark. There are always going to be both ends of the coin regarding peoples opinion. Love it or Hate it.

The sad part is you have to sort thru that kind of junk.

Come on people, lets respect dr, after all if it wasn't for him we would not be able to enjoy this site…And I for one would be very sorry to see dr quit what he does so well..

I received a hit from a bank teller today(thank you very much).Hopefully the condition of the bill warranted the comment.
I know my stamp is not bold or really large.(Idjit just about missed one of mine) It is placed in such a way that it does not interfere with the security features of the bills and stamped once on each side.
I hope others don't get carried away with their stamps and ruin everybodys' fun!

Thats all I do! Just one stamp front and back. I also try to be consistant and stamp in the same place each time. If you ever get an email on one of my bills like that dr I would like you to forword it to me and I will change the way I mark my bills!!

I also stamp front and back, once on each. No security features affected, I made sure of that. And your lucky the teller entered it. But I think the condition might of been marked poor because of the stamp. But then again, it could of been poor.

I still don't have a stamp, but I try to write nicely on the back and not too large. The old bills are nice because I write on the white space on the top of the back. Doesn't get in the way of anything on the bill.
