Did you folks know that the goverment uses the banks to inject new cash into the economy.I bealive every doller they lend out the goverment re-inburses them. It's a great game isn't it.

Actually under Canadian Banking law I think it is for every dollar the bank has on deposit they can lend out 7+

actually the rules now are for every $1.00 in the bank it can lend out $20.00. but they only count the money on deposit. but its a great deal for the banks …you deposit $ 1,000.00 into their gic and they can lend out $20,000.00 in loans ….

The best job would be to give loans. Like Money Mart. Example, you need $50. They give it to you. Payday comes, you got to pay them. Your $50 short again. Take out a loan, and repay every payday. You don't gain any money, they gain $50 every 2 weeks. Multiply by 1000's of people, vary amounts of cash, your making millions per year.

Yeah, but it takes money to make money in a scenario like that. You can't run out of money and say, well… come back on friday and we'll have lots.

It was some time ago that I learned the Goverment gives the banks money doller for doller based on how much they lend out. What you guy are telling me is that they get there cash based on how much they save. Sorry I have to agree. Think about it. They used to say pay yourself first. they don't anymore. now there saying would you like a credit card. Seems to me the banks are pushing people to spend not save.(except ING DIRECT 1800 ING DRIECT). They prefer to lend you cash. How many credit card aplications do you get in the mail every year.

I get way to many credit card applications to count. I'd guess about one every two weeks on average.

and they all end up in the same place……..file 13!!!

Have you tried to pay cash for a hotel room??? They want a credit card, no cash, no interact only credit cards!!! I don't have one and after staying at the same hotel for years, every 6 weeks, they inform me that the new policy is credit card only. Apparently its to stop the rif raft coming in in the middle of the night???? I now have a special note saying "I'm a regular and don't need a credit card" but when your 900 miles from home with reservations and only cash, and not told this until you arrive, its kinda scary!!!!

No kidding crazz!!! Whats this world coming to anyway when you can pay CASH for something!!!!

Where all being stered to a cashless society. get this to get a reservation for a 1/2 hour time slot on a computer at the local library you now need a libary card. to get a library card you must have an address./ you need a home to access the computers in our public library system. They know most of them end up as land fill. that dosent matter to then a justifiable percentage come back filled out and for every card they give out that turns into a certain $ amount. What indeed is the world coming to.
