Well Pooga has been burned and has made up his mind, but I will once again encourage everyone to leave their notes alone (ie. don't mark them with CMT) and then enter the notes on the WW site, in the same way that we would expect reciprical treatment. Otherwise, all that is going to happen is that our two communities, which are growing closer and closer, will start to split. And then we'll end up with some sort of turf war, where each site is crossing out the other sites stamps and such. And nobody wins when things are like that.
And, further, here is the message I posted over at the WW site.

I entered a bill the other day and produced a hit. I did not see any stamp or markings till I looked at it closer. then i saw in really tiny writing on the top of the bill the wheres willie site url. so I entered it there as well. If it had 2 of the sites stamped or written on it, I would have only picked this one. If it only had a ww stamp, I would enter it there and then here without stamping it. I only stamped the other one as I did not see the marks on it. really tiny and very faded.
I just went to dr post on ww. I liked the comment David made about entering on each sites and in the comments say that it is also entered at the other site. This sounds like a fair way, as then I myself would then enter it on WW.
I like that idea also….let our users know that it has been entered on another site by using the comments box and not have to mark the bill up any more. I think that's what I will do when I find another WW bill (I have found and entered two bills on WW so far)
I agree with dr. Let's not create any problems. Some people have been burned and will not enter at another site. I for one will enter it at both sites.
Dr is totally correct… I was trying to see if hank would be willing to make it .. a rule for their users to make only unmarked money.. as would I.
and enter it on the site it is stamped on, and if you wish to enter it on your own site so be it.. but do not re mark it if it is marked
:) sounds like a fair game plan where both sites help the other site out.
As a member of both sites, I have to agree with DR, Lord Comedy and others who advocate treating each sites bills as if they were your own. Any number of the WW marked bills could very well belong to someone registered here and by double stamping or refusing to enter the bill out of protest you coulld be hurting someone in your own ranks. Even before I signed up here, I would have never considered placing my WW stamp on a 'tracker' bill or marking out the 'offending' site. As in my case, I have too much time and bills invested there to ever hope of matching it here. Nor do I try to persuade a potential CMTer to join WW's ranks instead. The majority of the bills I've entered here have resulted in the finder joining this site and eventually entering some of their own!
Of course that's only my view. Everyone likes to get a hit and we're all in the same game! Could you imagine a bill marked with 3 or more websites getting a hit? I don't think either site is any better than the other, just that it's a personal preference likely determined by whichever bill first draws your attention. It would be interesting to see just how many users here have registered with other sites, in order to track any bills they do find. My first wild bill belonged to a CMTer promting me to finally sign up here rather than entering further bills anonymously and not being able to track them in the future. Later on I decided to enter some here to test marking techniques and hit responses and share some of my bills with you good people here, as Ontario remains a WW dominated Province.
Feel free to brows the WW site and have a look at my profile to find out more about me. Just click on the top 10 list and then users. We really are a friendly bunch and shouldn't be judged on the merits of a few who haven't really thought this through. I think that applies to those on both sides of the fence and I appreciate the efforts DR and Hank have made to resolve the 'do I or don't I?' issue.
Bill Collector (aka Peter, Peter B or Peter B at WW)
meh… it's not like lives hang in the balance. yeah, i'm obsessed with tracking but i gotta maintain perspective here. people who are stupid enough to double stamp or cross out URLs deserve what they get – that bill being taken out of circulation and no further hits from it. we all have our preferences as to what is the better site – some folks go for goofy animated kingfishers and appallingly ludicrous rolling eyes on national icons… some prefer professionally appointed webpages. it's a matter of choice and i'll never argue over anyone else's own personal choice (cast oblique aspersion, yes, but never argue…. :) ).

I came across my first WW bill today. I entered it at WW and left it at that and if I come across another, I will do the same. Since I am a member of WG, I was already a member of WW.(I didn't know the two were in one)But to tell the truth, I would rather be a member of CMT because it is so much easier and simpler to enter bills. I don't really care for all that fancy crap that WW has. And I think the Dr is right, let's not start a war.
