I had someone look who is supposed to know what they are looking for! He said its a girl. I think newborn white pups kind of looked like rats but I wont tell the mother that, she is so proud!

Especially with this long long haired breed. I find the males tend to be yellow bellied and need bathing much more often. Give me a squatter any day!

Almost showed the pics to my daughter, she wants a little house dog soooo bad. Maybe if you have more pups later and want to sell one, you can put their picture here and we can pick one. They are all so cute, mom, dad and baby,, so are your other puppies.

antics

no problem! This one is sold already. Actually if she had 4 they would have been sold. How old is your daughter?
I have to keep my granddaughter away from my maltese as she is extremely rough. They are quite fragile. chicken bones (like the wing tips) under all that hair.

MY daugher is 12, 13 in april. She already has 1 puppy (year old) and 4 cats and 4 kittens, but they are all outside. The other dog is mine. I don't have time to take care of all these, and so far she hasn't been doing a great job. I keep telling her until I don't have to do all the work (even if she did a little bit) she can have a house dog. I got my first dog at 10 and have never really been without one since. She's kinda stuck in the house for 12 hrs (7a.m. to 7p.m.) because she's on dialysis. Last month one of the kittens was in the truck motor, she nursed it back and its fine. Now one of the other kittens has upper respitory something (a cold) so she's in the house and is doing better. Rainbow her dog is trained to run when the bus comes (because she always has a treat in her pocket.) I think she would have as many pets as I would allow and then try to get a few more, oh well, it could be worse. She helped me raise 50 chicks last summer. Even helped with the plucking!!!

Sounds like you have farm animals for pets…do they all have their shots up to date? the sick little kitten makes me think not.
And what's up with our house?
We gotta find a place by April…

The dogs all do, the cats not yet, they just moved in a while ago, 2 had kittens, we gave 3 away and 3 died, I think it may have been poison (not us) as soon as the kittens are old enough they and the other girls are going in for a group rate to be neutered. As for the house nothing has been done to it yet. Maybe one in town for rent/sale soon. A elderly lady just passed away friday night.

The Maltese are very time consuming. They need to be groomed a lot and they also demand a lot of attention and are not a good dog to be left alone. They prefer the company of humans but will accept another dog or even a cat if they have to. They like to just sit on your lap and get petted once they are past the puppy play stage. My female comes running to sit on mine as soon as she hears the tv come on. Not with her new pup now though of course. kind of miss her being there. Sasktel internet is really lousy lately. I get cut off and have to reconnect a couple dozen times a day. should phone them and give them hell i suppose.

Little Billy was doing really good today, then tonight went into epileptic seizure. Apparently cats get this alot, (I never heard of cats with this before) She had a few short ones then one that didn't stop. The vets said there wasn't anything they could do about it. The first to the last one lasted about 1/2 hour, not even enough time to get to a vet.
Vaccinations wouldn't of prevented this, but the rest are getting theirs right away, just in case.

Crazy Dwarf

Sorry to hear about that. I do know that if you catch it early enough you can put them on a med. much like what I take and it has a good chance to stop the seizuers.

Sorry to hear about your kitten. Our neighbours had a Sheltie dog once who had seizures. They said after she had one, it was like she couldn't remember up from down. It seemed she'd lose a bit after every seizure, and wander away, getting lost (lived on a farm–free reign). The vet recommended putting her down, I think. :o(

JaketheDrifter

Crazz, I'm sorry to hear about Billy.

A friend of mine had a cockatoo (parrot) who had seizures. Same thing - he would be disoriented for a few hours or more, depending on the length of the seizure but then go back to his usual happy self. He saw the vet regularly and because he wasn't in any pain, they tried different medications on him and he lived for about another year after the seizures started.

Some vets are much too quick to recommend euthanasia…especially in birds. Another person I knew took her bird to the vet (not her usual vet as he wasn't available) with a minor ailment. The vet said there was no cure and that the bird needed to be put down.

She was, of course, devastated and waited for her regular vet to return and asked him to perform the euthanization. He took one look at the bird and asked WHY?? Gave her some medication and sent her and the bird home. In a few days he was a perfectly healthy bird.

Always get a second opinion!

So sorry to hear about Little Billy. It's sad when we loose a pet. My heart goes out to you.
It's very common for cats to have epilepsy and a lot of other human disorders such as diabetes.

My condolences as well. I lost my cat of ten years to cancer a few days after Christmas. I first noticed a lump last May, which the vet removed and said was cancerous, but the bloodwork suggested it hadn't spread yet. But in September, I found another lump, this one turned out to be inoperable. A few weeks before Christmas she started having trouble breathing, so I put her on Prednezone, which eased things for her, but she was never herself again. On boxing Day she quit eating. Two days later, I had her put down.
This was the cat I'd adopted when I lived in Ottawa, and brought her to Saskatoon with me when I moved back west. She had some cute games she would play that my other cat just won't do, so I know I'll miss her a long time.

when I was 7.
I took Dilantin and Phenobarb until 1982.
Now, I take Epival.
I have difficulty managing my weight because of it.
Have bigtime edema.
Anybody else here have a seizure disorder?

PS A very high fever can cause seizures.
And whacked out blood sugar levels.
To name only two…

My deepest sympathy for the loss of your friend and companion.
And to everyone who has ever lost a pet.
The pain of loss cuts like a knife.

Crazy Dwarf

I have had epilepsy since I was 8. I had surgery in 1995 to help control it, and have been on every med. they have and still every once in a while my head wins the contest on who has more control of the body.

21MillionDollarBaby

I have frontal lobe "something"…not a candidate for surgery.
Dilantin is not recommended in my case. Too many dental side effects.
Tegretol made me dizzy and I quit taking it when I lost my balance in the hospital stairwell and would've crashed if not for my dad grabbing onto me.
Topomax made me really stupid. I'm a fairly bright crayon but I quit taking it when I took an educational assessment and couldn't even spell.
I nearly had a stroke trying to spell "camouflage" and I never did get it right.
I got "khaki" wrong!
I was really fed up when I discovered that I was unable to do simple math problems.
Then I took Depakene. It was OK because it's basically uncoated Epival.
I feel they should rethink the Epival coating.
The bottle says 'Keep away from children' and so I was always assuming they meant the pills.
But maybe they're instructions for me!
Since the pills smell totally good enough to eat (like raspberry chocolate) it makes sense.
Take care Crazy.

Crazy Dwarf

I know what you mean about Tegretol making you dizzy, I don't get a side effect quit like that, mine almost makes me high. I don't like the feeling (all the time) but it is the only med. that works with me so I have no choice but to take it.

21MillionDollarBaby

We KNOW the risks alright?

Jeesh! I can't believe it! There is no WAY I can believe this!

Sometimes when we are OVER controlled it makes life very difficult as well.
We need a seizure in fact.
They were trying to adjust my meds awhile ago
and I ended up having more petit mal seizures than
I've ever had in my life before.
In rapid succession -
like my brain couldn't get rid of the electrical energy fast enough!
