You go to the bank to withdraw some cash. As the teller is counting out your bills, you spot one that is in extremely bad shape. Do you ask the teller for a different one or take the bill?
I've never encountered this situation until recently and it has happened a couple of times now. I've asked the teller for a different bill. Not much life in a bill that's in really bad shape. Chances of getting a hit would be slim and none compared to a new bill (I would think)*
I take them and mark them anyhow. sometimes I will use those to trade for loonies to wash my car.
Most of the time I'll take them & mark 'em just like antics, but at the gas station near home where I go quite often they always try to give me good clean bills in change and a few ask where my bills have been recently.
You know samson I go to the bank down the road from me and today i went there and asked Lori to give me 200 dollars worth of fives and she told me that all she could give me was 50 dollars worth of fives I told her go get the fives out of the safe. They finally agreed to give me 130 dollars worth of fives. Heck I get some nasty fives and don't say anything because i am sure they would quit exchanging 20 dollar bills into fives…I just take the nasty ones also…. :-)

Naaa ..I take what I get. Hey, maybe you are lucky and that "old" bill has a CMT stamp on it and you can give somebody a hit?
