Has anybody been watchin the news or anything lately? Sask has been have some pretty extreme weather lately!! It seems to go from one extreme to the next. Wednesday night, the Vibank/Odessa/Francis area had some very extreme weather. Vibank didn't get it that bad, but with the lightning, the rain, and the wind it was a rank storm!! There was reports of numerous tornados, as well as hail etc. And there i was in the middle of it standing on my deck trying to get pictures of the cool lightning! (I'm not exactly the brightest bulb in the box :P) Here's a report with a couple pics for those who are interested. These people had 30 of their lambs sucked right out of their barn, and these lambs are still MIA!! A good friend of mine lives right down the road from these people, and his farm was damaged as well.
No kidding insane…what a year it has been…hard to imagine a twister sucking up 30 lambs,I have heard of simular events in the past,and infact just a few weeks ago by swift current,the exact same thing happened,but I can't recall the livestock,they still have not been found either…but this is saskatchewan,if you don't like the weather,wait a few minutes,and it will change,just like here in saskatoon yesterday,the temp was up and down like a yo-yo,then it looked like storms,and nothing.
I'm about 10 klms from the lambs and we didn't get the wind on Wednesday (great lightning show!) But Sat around 6 I could see the clouds so I went to put the chickens away and the whole co-op lit up and a huge CRACK I hit the ground then turned and ran!! Then the wind came! I thought the house was going to blow away and made the girls go downstairs. My son was about 4 klms away bailing and I called him to park the tractor, and they had nothing!!
