Sharpies

Hey i just got 3 fine tip sharpie markers(blue, red, and black). Ive marked a couple bills with them so far and they stand out WAY more than my stamp. Just a question, how should i mark them with my sharpies? big? small? message? all over? margins? thanks, wes

rainbow effect with all three colors would look tasteful.
And if you remember to add a smilie face you will be SURE to put the person in a good mood to give you a hit.
And write a catchy saying like

I've used an ultra fine point sharpie, it was nice and dark, but just be sure you write quickly. I found that if I wrote to slow, the ink managed to soak through the bill.

I like using sharpies too…I've marked over 3,000 bills with them (still no stamp!!) and the hits seem to be rolling in pretty steady now…I haven't had a no-hit day since Jan 21. I usually stick to writing my messages in the margins only and, when I have time, try to use 2 different colours on each bill. A blue or green message with red to underline certain words or the website URL is usually pretty eye-catching.

I'm a fan of the Sharpies too. All my bills from work are done by hand. Everything else is stamped at home. I think that the ones by hand are getting better hits. More time consuming, but worth it.

Wow Jake, that's a lot of bills to mark by hand! I was getting sick of writing on my bills and was pretty close to not caring to much if I entered bills until I got my stamp. Now it's so much quicker, and I'm getting more hits, but I think it was just a visibility thing. When I was writing i mostly used just plain old blue ink. My stamp is much more visible.

What color ink is your stamp and what does it say? I should really get a stamp so I can use it when I've got lots of bills to mark. I like to vary my messages, so I know I would still write a lot of them by hand, but there are times when I've had to let bills go because I didn't have time to mark them. That hurts!

My stamp is just plain black ink, font size about 10 - although not sure. It says:

What kind of interesting messages do you write on yours?

I had actually planned to get a stamp that wasn't self inking and use stamp pads because i have a few different colours of those. So that's an idea if you like colourful

Sharpies rule, I keep a black one in the car and my other coloured ones at home.
