Slow start for this site- was CMT this slow at first?

This site: http://www.wherehaveibeen.com has been going for about a month now, I think. I wonder if CMT got a slow start when we were in the Beta/test stage. Any historians out there who can tell me anything about this? T-rev? DR? Pooga?

Interesting. US background, but seems to be Canadian. And They got a pile of bills entered in NB.

It's pretty clear that the last thing we need is yet another site. And the fact that they have American money as the background tends to make me thinkl that it isn't a serious project. As for the history of the site, I have no idea; I only found out about it when someone mentioned it in a thread on WW.

I was curious about the beginnings of OUR site- I was a late comer- so I missed the early days. I was hoping for a little background on why, early hiccups, the first hit, the growth of the database, stuff like that. As a history nut, these things fascinate me. I only mentioned them other fellers to illustrate the historical significance…

That site had more bills entered in BC, most in chilliwack. It seems that most of the hits and entries are done by the some few members. This site is much much better. There is a lot more info in the stats here and I couldn't find a forum on that site. so glad I found a bill from this site first.

Idjit: Oh, I getcha. Well some of the history can be seen in the "What's New?" section. However, a written history of the site might not be a bad idea. I will work on that when I get a chance. Maybe submit that as a bug (feature request) so that I am reminded of it.

Well, I can tell a story or two. But as suggested maybe a written history would be good. Best to write it soon while it can be remembered.

But I remember when there was a battle between my friend Nick M and Lopezm (dr's business partner from back in the day). So the story goes that they were fighting it out for who would have more bills entered… lopezm won in the end with 33 bills entered. Of course today there are many users entering that many bills a day, so it shows you the changes, and makes the battle seem rather mild. But at the time it was hotly contested!

If you need help with this, I have the time and (I think) the talent for this type of work. Let me know…
