Since starting this thread earlier this afternoon I have received a number of emails from users asking me why. So I am back to answer this question so there is no doubt in any ones mind.

Why?

I joined this site approximately 10 months ago, after DR and I where talking at a diving function. I quickly went out and bought what I thought was a stamp that would just drive the folks into the site… After 1000+ bills in 8 months I was wrong. I kept op with the site but was far from an active participant. Then DR and I where chatting online one day and I decided to get in 100%, I started getting involved in the forums and stamped and released close 1100 bills within 2 weeks.

Easter weekend 16 of us from Calgary went on a road trip to Sechlet BC from a diving adventure, I personally stamped and took 200 $5 bills with me to spend on this trip, now I did not spend them all but I did get rid of 186 of them between Thursday night and Monday night when we returned.

Upon returning I started to get HITS from the 1100 bills I had entered in a new manner all of these bills are stamped first on the face of the bill asking people to help track the bill @ URL, then they are all stamped again on the back side asking people if they are curious @ the URL. Meaning you have to be pretty blind to miss a bill I have stamped in the last three weeks. I got a lot of hits in BC, Alberta, and Calgary.

First I was happy that I was getting upwards of 13-19 HITS a day, all of the work was at long last paying off. Then people started slamming me because people would enter all of the bills I had given them for something. Two questions on that front, a) If they where going to bother entering any bill why would they not enter them all. B) hello I spend close to $1000 in $5 bills it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that there was probably a couple of places that I dropped more than one bill. Hey have you ever looked at the price of diving equipment?

Then I logon today, after being away from the site for some time as it was my Wife’s Birthday weekend, and face this crap:

I didn't realize the speed at which the hits were coming in! It's truly amazing how many thoughtful "anonymous' people are out there.

And dr 'I don't know if you are all a little slow' but the hits that I was questioning all took place in Calgary within a 24 hour period and 'I don't know if you are all a little slow' but Calgary is a long way from Gibson.

First off, resign that would mean that I was getting paid, and if that is the case where do I send the invoice. Also to the best of my knowedge I was not teleported to Gibson at least if I was the 9 hour drive memory was planeted in my memory by some alien race. This means I spent money in many more places than justh the Sunshine coast.

Second investigate, be my guest one of the things that you don’t know about me is that I make a large portion of my living tracking hackers on the internet. As a security expert, I have been programming TCP/IP software since 1986. I hope I don’t shock a whole bunch of people when I say I hope that DR has the system track the IP address of every Bill entered, not just the ones that generate HITS. This is easy to obtain from the Web server and easy to add to the SQL database that all of this is stored in. I will enter this into the public record. I own my own IP address space, it is 204.209.168.X I have owned it since 1996. My firewall the IP address that all of my bills will have stored should be 204.209.168.55, I have Two other systems on that IP space 204.209.168.2, and 204.209.168.56 - (was going to be the chat server) IF any of the HITS that I am being accused of faking can be traced back to any of those addresses I will personally donate $2000 dollars to DAN in DR’s Name. Also having never gotten a bill with this sites URL on it (I have received a WILLY bill) I have not seen how people enter bills on the site if they are not registered but I will assume that they require at least a serial # and postal code to enter a bill, so then what was I doing polling people for their postal codes as I was traveling cross country?? I can see it now “Hey I have this web site, you see the Bill there I just gave you, can I get your postal code please?”

Third, who degraded this into an insult match White_owl?

I started coming to this site because it was fun, I have three kids, four active businesses, and a diving hobby that eats a large chunk of my time. I have seen many of the top people on this site congratulate people on this site for their first hit, 500th bill, etc. Instead of congratulating me on the success of what I have been doing in the last three weeks, or even ignored I am openly attacked. This takes away from the old fun factor. Think about his for a second, how long do you think it takes for someone to enter, 1100 bills? How about stamping each one once? How about Twice? Then to have a chunk of the people who benefit when this site gets busier attacking me because they might loose their golden CMT award or something (yeah I am grasping here because my mind still can not cough up a good reason).

I would challenge everyone on this site to think about what is means to encourage and what is means to attack someone else. Think about the times you have been encouraged, think about the times you have been attacked, which allowed you to have fun, and which made you say… screw it, it’s not worth my time anymore..

Your time or course being the most valuable resource you have ever been given and will ever be given. We are all born with a certain number of heartbeats. There is no warranty replacement here… “What are you willing to waste you heart beats on?”

Ultimately BishOp you will decide to continue or not. I'd hate to see the opinions of the few hurt even one. Not everyone thinks that way.

I am sorry this thread has resulted in BishOp asking to be removed from the site. I know how much time it takes to mark 1000+ bills (twice), and the dedication it takes to do this on an ongoing basis. To have this kind of criticism expressed so publicly must be a great dissapointment to this member.

This should never be. There are a million and one forums out there where members are attacked for any number of reasons. Let me tell you- this gets tired really fast. Not only does it discourage meaningful participation in our forums, it attacks the dignity and personal integrity of the member affected. For this, I am truly sorry.

One of the reasons why I spend time here, and I mean a lot of time here, is because of the supportive community that exists here. It's the reason why I try to make it out to the 'gatherings' that are held in my area, the reason why I respond to as many e-mails as I can from new members, this all takes time out of my busy day- but I hope I'm giving something back for the enjoyment I get from this site.

I have been lucky I guess, that having been #1 on the first page (for now) that I have not been attacked in this manner. If it ever happens, I hope that the CMT community will express their concerns privately, and their support publicly.

To BishOp: Please, please do not leave the site over this incident. I am sorry your integrity has been publicly questioned in this manner but be assured- most of us do not condone what has happened to you. Please consider remaining here as a member of the CMT community.

It's sad to see anyone quit. I think there are good reasons to quit. Quiting because of what a few people think when you can so easily defend yourself makes me think that maybee there is some other reason. Perhaps the hustle of life has got you and you just need more time for yourself. It's always nice to be here and It's sad to see anyone quit. I personaly wish you well. I personaly do my best to let pepole think what they want I have my own head to look after and I try my best to keep everyone out of my head.My heart stays open for those I love.

On a different note-
BishOp would you scan and post your stamps for us please. It would be nice to see the cause of all this commotion!

I don't see why everyone doesn't like why he got a pile of hits in the week. Look at the Saskatchewan users. They get so many hits, some, if not most bills, are getting hit for a second and third time. Bish0p travelled 3000kms, total, and spent 180+ marked fives. He was bound to get a hit of at least some of them. I got 6 hits off of only 15 fives. If anything, we should be suprised that he didn't get more hits.

I have been away on a business trip for a few days and was shocked to say the least to see what has been going on here. BishOp I trully hope you reconsider your decision to leave the site. You are a great asset to it. And I know how much work and time you have put into it. The views of a few do not reflect the majority of the users on this site. You worked very hard to recieve those hits. You marked and entered all those bills to recive hits, to see where the bills go and that is what it is all about. Isn't it? The same reason we ALL mark and enter bills.

Kaiser I have to agree, look at the amount of bills Bish0p has entered, almost 2700.. I have less than that, and have more hits. Just happens that he released alot of bills at once and got hits. If I could let out 1000 bills in a week Im sure I would recieve 100 hits in a month also. I'm sure if he was cheating, every bill would be hit at least once..
