I think there is something close to rudy's comment in Mark Twain I don't think statistics is the 3rd type of lie.
I think it is in the book adventures of Thom Saywer … near the begining.
I can't remember it exactly though

I thought the quote in Tom Saywer was something like
There are 3 kinds of lies: Lies, darned lies and the fools truth.
Maybe I imagined that.. Can I be famous for saying the latter line?
