Craik is probably one of THE most economically dynamic towns in saskatchewan right about now with construction and growth that likely outstrips that of regina and saskatoon (which, i admit to the folks from other jurisdictions, ain't sayin' much :) ). but craik is trying to leverage its position as the true "half-way house" and the fact that it is equidistantly isolated from both economic hubs. it might just work… it certainly has done its geography homework!

Isn't Davidson the 1/2 way town between Regina & Saskatoon?
Craik is actually only about an hour outside of Regina.
and Saskatoon is closer to 3 hours away than 2.
and Davidson is about 135 KM from each city.

They just built a nice 'straw bale' clubhouse for their golf course this year. While I missed the provincial gathering, I did a little advance exploring and was impressed with what I saw. If Saskatoon had half the chuzpah these folks do, we'd take over the world! As for half way, I think Chamberlain is most people's half way point, but it's nothing more than a gas stop.

Maybe they framed it and put it up for public display at the New Eco Centre in Craik for all to stare and admire.

actually, halfway would actually be girvin – pretty much 130km between the two major centres. however, it suffers from being between two competing service centres, davidson (closer to yxe) and craik (closer to yqr). davidson is 116km from saskatoon and craik is 116 from regina. choose your halfway point…. most of it is psychological distance anyway!

I know that the last time I drove from Regina to Saskatoon, I got to Craik and it felt like I was almost home!

on the way home the same is to say for Craik..
