As a new user what colour of stamp works the best? Also, any negative feedback recently? I read some of the earlier messages of stamps?

Well, SARGE's and mine are black. I don't know how to describe it except as an 'industrial' black. A bit light as it's the same ink as is used to encode our packaging.
Haven't had any tellers around here look at it funny recently. Maybe the tellers in Saskatoon are used to seeing it around!
The tellers here in Calgary are insane.. I brought in 2 fifties one day to get USDollars, one was stamped, and the teller spazed out on me and almost didnt accept the bill.. Come on.. One bill out of Two. I could have got it from a friend or like that. She told me a long speach about How its illegal, how wrong it is, how many bills i bring in there like that (Only one), etc
Next time im going to print out the Law 50 time and tell her to post them all over the Bank and around her Teller area so she knows as long as its not interfering with bill markings, its OK!!!
It just made me upset though, just because of one freakin bill she must tell me for 5 mins that she doesn`t like it..
Oh well what can i do about it now…
MMMBEER

I suggest next time that you do the following: If she has a name tag say "Excuse me, Jane/Joe. If you are not prepared to accept this legal tender without a lecture, please go fetch your manager. You do not know that I was the one who stamped the money, you don't have the authority to arrest me even if it was me and it was illegal, and in fact, it is illegal for you to not accept this bill as it is legal tender."
I'm not sure about the last part but I'm pretty sure that banks and any store front are obliged to accept any legal tender (the exception of course is if they don't have enough change for a $1000 bill or something).
I've found that calm, rational chit-chat is the only way to go. Calling them by their first name is a good touch as it catches their attention right away. Plus, they now know that you know their name (so you can mention it when you complain to their manager).

how certain is anyone about legislation governing this issue?
Yeah, I've had the lecture too. I keep a five that the bank stamped just for that purpose. As soon as the lecture starts, I pull it out and show it to the teller. Knocks the wind out of their argument fairly fast. If that doesn't work, I ask for the manager right away. That ends the lecture pronto…
