In the hair of the queen there is an appearance of a devils face. I haven't seen one directly, but people say it is noticible up close
2 signatures, Coyne-Towers and Beattie-Coyne. Ran from 1954-1956. 'Modified' portrait after that for all denominations but a few years before the $1000 was 'modified'. It's merely an illusion from the original portrait of Queen Elizabeth used for the currency.
The devil's face is on the front of the bill. If you look at the Queen's left ear just behind the ear is the devil's nose. The eyes are slightly above the nose. Below the nose the devil seems to be grinning. I hope this helps.
Who the h*** are ya?
I mean HOW the heck are ya?
lol
Hi Shibumi,
Welcome to CMT and thanks for the hit!
Don't mind 21MillionDollarBrat; she's just the resident snoop!
Thanks Shibumi…and welcome! I'll have to check this out again. Hey, by the way…interesting user name. I've got a good friend that uses the same one for different things, and was curious to find out if you were him. Not the same person…he lives in Vancouver!
If I remember the story correctly, people didn't want to use the money because of the face. The bank had to alter the shading in the hair to eliminate the possibility of seeing one. Guess you could call it currency exorcism.
lol that's funny!
Yeah I found out about that when I went to CDN PAPER MONEY.
They have the whole story there! I was interested because I have an EF devilsface and wanted to find out more! You should go there magpie it's realy neat!
Went there pappahunt and you were right it was really neat. Heard mention of that site on here a few time but never visited until you insisted, glad I did.
