I have a 1/2 a 10 bucks and I don't know what to do with it.
At first, I thought I'd just make it into a play money for my 2 girls then I thought I'd keep it for a little longer and see if the other half will come to me.
What should I do with it? Can I just take it to the bank to get the face value or is it worth 5 bucks now?
Please, any one reply.

Go take out a wad of 10s, and rip off a little bit of each ten to construct a good full 10, and then tape every other 10 you had to rip something out back together. They'll be a little smaller, but it'll pass.
jk.
I had 1/2 of a $20… and the Royal Bank of Canada gave me a full 20$ for it. Shocked the poop right out of me!
I had heard that the bank will give you $5 for it; based on a special bill measuring ruler or something. But, don't take my word for it… it's just what I heard.

I've heard you get paid by the serial numbers. both serial numbers full value..One serial number half…But I don't know for sure..Take it to the bank and find out for us…
the one i had had just one serial number. our local credit union, wouldnt take it. no value what so ever. tried at the royal bank, and got full value.
Thats good to know I have a half of a five $ bill. I had no Idea what to do with it. Couldn't bring myself to throw it out. I'll try the Royal Bank here and see what they say.
Where are you people getting these half bills from?
Your from nunavut? Wow, Hope you mark your bills and become a regualr user! Welcome!
I had half a bill a while back, and I was told by a local bank (BMO) that they can "only accept a bill with BOTH serial numbers".
Here is what you do with it. All the info you need is on this page. The cool thing is- you get a cheque from the Bank of Canada
