It's so cold on the prairies that "Log in" means put more wood in the stove!
It's so cold on the prairies that teenagers actually wear coats.
It's so cold on the prairies that when it hits -40C people are glad it's getting warmer!

I havent seen any. have no pity for those who are sick in bed for 1/3 of the winter feeling like ka ka! Last teen I seen like that was not thrilled with my comment of "mmm must be my common sense that has caused me to only have one cold etc for years" As i waddle out of the room in my oversized parka, sweatshirt, t-shirt and undershirt, ski pants, jeans, leggings and thick wool socks trying not to knock anything over with my arms as they are out to the side like a frankenstein monster" ha ha

Not that I am trying to stick up for anyone, but colds and flu are from a virus. You can become chilled or freeze to death from not dressing properly in cold weather…

then just remind them that they may be able to tpough it out now, but if they freeze any part of their body it become more easily affected by heat or cold after that and when they get older and are suffering they will understand but it will be to late…. As an old person once said "God why didn't you tell me I was going to live so long I would have taken better care of my body when I was young."
