Time for a mini-blog…
Decided to take a week off and go golfing. Friday after work, we drove from Saskatoon to Midale (near Weyburn). First thing in the morning, we did 18 at Mainprize Regional Park. Beautiful course, a true Scottish links course. Not a tree to be seen! Then on to Estevan for another 18 at Woodlawn.
WAY too much sun in one day. It's Sunday morning and we're off to the Carlyle area. Playing Kenosee this afternoon, and spending the evening in the White Bear Casino.
More later….
Heres a golfing joke for ya poogers!
Beverly had decided that she would learn to play golf, so she signed up for and took lessons. After six months of diligent effort she was ready to play eighteen holes with three of her friends.
Out on the course she was stung by a bee. Fearing an allergic reaction she hurried back to the clubhouse to find the pro.
I've been stung by a bee! What shall I do?
Where were you stung?
Between the first and second hole!
Beverly, we need to work on your stance…
Thanx antics.
Sunday evening update…
If you're in Estevan, I recommend the "Perfect Inns & Suites". Great place. And for food, there's a Chinese restaurant about 3 doors down called "Jenny K" which is excellent. Try the ginger chicken.
GolfKenosee is in the 4th year of a five year reconstruction. Still 18 holes, but it's being lengthened from 5200 yards to 6500. Very scenic course. I left a lot of balls behind for others to find (company logo… advertising write-off!)
Bear Claw Casino was a bit smoky, so we didn't stay long. Finished $5 down. That's our gambling limit for the year. Playing White Bear VERY early tomorrow and then off to Winnipeg.
SO are you stopping in Rosthern????? Let me know if you are…..
pooga stumled into the circle of the illuminati:

i found jenny k when i taught classes at the southeast regional college. i'd walk to estevan on my knees for their ginger beef. i hope you ordered it "suicide-hot"!
Sorry BDK, Rosthern ain't in this direction!
Golfed White Bear this morning. Gorgeous course, but eats golf balls. Drove to Winnipeg. Sitting on a deck right now drinking 'pop'. We'll see what tomorrow brings…
Went to The Forks and St. Vital Mall yesterday. THC insisted on an off day and wanted to go shopping. Stayed with an old buddy who is a fantastic cook. Learned a few new tricks. I will have to give them a try.
Drove to Clear Lake in Riding Mountain NP. Very Much like Waskesiu in PANP. But at least I was able to keep it in the fairway most of the time.
Relaxing at the Elkhorn Resort. Pricey, but it was the only place available. This area is busy!
More tomorrow!
Final update:
Thursday morning we drove to Gilbert Plains and golfed a fantastic course in the middle of nowhere. I highly recommend this course if you ever pass this way.
Spent Thursday evening with a cousin in Grandview. Friday morning we drove to Madge Lake. A lot of people rave about this course, but all I have to say is that it is just stupid. Greens are small AND crowned. A foot heavy on a lag putt and you're off the back of the green. Lots of blind shots, no maps of the course and only one tee box. It has potential, but needs a lot of work.
Drove home after the game as we were disappointed with the park. No townsite or resort community. Just a beach, one lodge, some campsites and the golf course. Definitely not a destination location.
Good to be home. I think that's enough golf though… For this week!
