I am not older than dirt but some of the best things came from long ago and stayed around. Also if you know where to look you can still see lots of these things. And no one is gonna ever steal my ice cube tray away from me, I love it and it never breaks. :)

And how about these topics?
A. If you saw someone wearing a ball cap anyway except perfect frontwards (or perfect backwards), you thought: Oh dear, the poor soul is retarded.
B. If you saw someone wearing clothes that were too big, the thought was: Poor soul has to wear hand-me-downs.
(Please note: this is not a put-down of anyone's fashion choice, simply a "the way it was".
Oh My!, reading that does bring up alot of memories.
I'm surprised that people don't remember the glass milk bottles, especially if you remember Packards and Studebakers. We were getting milk in bottles right up to the early 70's. While we owned a Studebaker, I never saw a Packard on the street since the last 'true' Packard was built in '56.
The same with mimeograph paper. Remember the solvent smell from the machines?
I also owned a Studebaker a 1959 LARK FOUR DOOR A WONDERFUL CAR. YES POOGA the smell from the solvent was a high for some of us in the early 60's as the teacher allowed us to watch the plate print out copies. My favorite candy back then (now polictically incorrect) was black babies known by other names over the years. Cracker Jacks had real prizes back then and I have been know to buy some of those prizes on Ebay for more than a years supply of Cracker Jacks would have cost me back then. Life ran at a slower pace back then with a five page project taking a few days in book research and 16mm. or 8nn. movie veiwing to type the report on the old typewritter in the black box. Now it is a few hours on the net and a few clips off the computer and wam out flies the five page project before it is time for bed. proof read yes lose points for spelling …not … that is spell checks job.
NOW IN SCHOOL …
Teach which format do you want my project in ? Can I
e mail it to you or do you want it on disk? You want it on paper what about the enviroment I think you should just let me e mail it to you.
TALK ABOUT OLD AS DIRT HECK I MADE DIRT OLDER THAN MOST OF MY WORKERS … HARD TO OVERHEAR THEM SAY ASK THE OLD MAN.
I don't know what most of these this even are, I had to Google most of them.
Well, I guess I'm old cause I still use the metal icecube tray and have a Hi-Fi that plays 45's
older than dirt now that really is old.
Here is a site for those of you that are old enough to remember just some of the 50's.
Check out the rest of the videos on the home page if you want to feel really nostalgic.
now that brought back memories. i have been told many times i am stuck in the 60's but it looks like it was the earlt sisties as most of the items shown are fresh in my mind. i talk to the young people that work for me and most were born in the 1980's and it makes me wonder where all the years have gone. looking in the mirror i see grey hair and time lines and i think …boy am i getting old.
where have all the years gone? when you were 12 it took sooo long to your next birthday (teen's) and now the years just fly by. i remember when a big computer was measured in k's not g's and nerds said a 1 gig would never be made as would be too big to handle. and to buy a computer was $1000's plus printer plus software plus plus plus.
