well today was a very small group our host had a double table all set up for us with water and fresh coffee and coco waiting he even had grapefruit juice for bdk. meal was good gouche92 even got us all free ham. i must say for a small diner the host was very good to us. when i arrived pooga was waiting in his truck for the doors to open. we walked in together and after about 15 minutes bdk and gouche joined us for our four man meeting. we missed dr. j.d.fever and jerbear at this get together and also idjit who needed to attend his new post. we had our regular talk about cmt and learned a few things about video tape recycling. all was good and the host i guess was expecting about the same number as last time so our regulars were really missed. gouche92 on your trip to regina please drop in to see rudyk and give him our regards. until next week these are the minutes.
BC, are we going to make the Montgomery the first Thursday of every month, with Timmy's being the spot for the other Thursdays?
POOGA that will be up to the group I will go with the flow I would like to see even days at one and odd days at the other.
That way they would get equal meetings and odds being the Montgomery (as today was odd) and evens being the Tim's on 33 rd. how does that sound to the group? i really like that idea. Evens to Tim's Odd's to the Montgomery nice and simple and spreads our money around. COME ON COFFEE CLUB MEMBERS LETS HEAR WHAT YA GOT TO SAY.
I like Pooga's idea. One meeting a month (first Thursday) at the Montie and the rest at Tim's. The more central location works better for me and that is why JerBear and I started it out that way….
Believe me I would be more than happy to have it at montgomery every week as it is close to me. However its not about me and when I started the coffee club I wanted a central location that would work for everyone.
On the other hand it would be nice to try different places and maybe the first thurs of every month should be left open for that. That way every member could have it in his or her neighborhood. I know what your thinking mstiggs but I think we should keep the location in Saskatoon ~grin
In any case it should be a group decision and its great to throw in new ideas and try them out.
I am up for anthing the group decides…
I agree with the idea of the first Thurs at the Mont and every other one at Timmy's. Now we just have to get some people to come out earlier so I can join too! LOL
Master: The Mont only opens at 7:00…
I think the guy who buys the donuts should get to pick the next location ;)>
My 2 cents worth say keep it somewhere where refills are free. As for in the city, I don't care where it is since I attend very few anyhow and you could make an exception once in a while. :)
free refills is a nice idea and when at the montgomery i will point out that hot chockolat refill would have been free. i am not down on tim's but parking is nuts and you want seconds you pay and self serve and no eggs. i like my hot breakfast maybe a sit down place on idylwyld would be nice. i like to be served and the refills are nice and hot breakfast is great. there are some great breakfast specials out there that cost little more than two cups of coffee.
no i do not own the montgomery! just two nice local guys trying to make a living and need some support. they are new owners who if they do not get some loyal customers may not make it (i think tim's will survive). when i first went to the mont. they sold pepsi only i told them i drink diet coke and was told we will have it tomorrow and they did. then i mentioned i like the gold cans(caff. free) and the next visit they had it. our first meeting bdk wanted coco and grapefruit juice they did not have it but one week later at the next meeting they had both. gouche asked about ham and bam we got it (free i think)… now those are the reasons i love this place guys they are so receptive to the customers requests. just my $5.00's worth.
okay okay just one other thing … did you see how nice he set up a table for us reserved with ice water and everything. they are trying hard to gain our support.
nice to be big fish in a small pond rather than small fish in big pond.
I have had coffee there as well and the service is great and the ppl are nice. I would not really have a problem going there whenever possible for me to do so.
Don't get me wrong. I like the place. Timing sucks for me though. Makes for a long morning when I finish at 6:30.
And when I start at 7AM, it doesn't work at all. And until the south bridge is done, it's a LONG way around to my end of town, although it was only 18 minutes this time (usually 30!).
Speaking of which, don't worry about me for the next 4 weeks. Starting at 6:30 this week, then on vacation for 3. I think BD is away as well.
Yes, I will be away for about three weeks…Going south you know…
Going to Chandler Arizona…
BDK take me with you- we can go and watch the Ostrich races- If you what to watch something you"ll bust your gut laughing at then I suggest we take this in.~lol
Have a good trip - I was hopefull I would make it there this year myself but hope is running very low.
I'am all for it- I know the road well- when and what time are we departing???
Driving down.. It is a beautiful drive!!!
Are you driving though Colorado & New Mexico??
I saw that route when I was a wee lad around 9 - 10 years old it think.
Another question Is Yuma in Arizona too ?
Yup in the s.w. cornor of Az.- why would any one go throu Colorado at this time of year to go south- to much snow because of higher altitude- you either go east of or down via Utah and Vegas (leave lots of money behind)~lol
I think we are going through Coloroda..I have been down the I 15 5 times already…Time to try a new route..If you wish we can have a meeting down there.. I'm all for it..
That would be a great place for a coffee club meeting….
I beleive the Colorado route is the most direct route.
My Pa has driven down several times.
