Sarge
Hey Pooga, I was just wondering how it feels to officially be an employee of the Provincial Government, now that the Crown Investments Corp. has ripped ownership of Great Western away from your gang.

Well, they didn't rip ALL of it away. They converted a debenture into shares, so they have had unofficial control for a while now. Good move on the part of the government.. we start making money, so they convert their debt into equity, looks better on the books, and makes it more attractive to a potential buyer.
But it does seem strange that a brewery is now a Crown Corp!
LOL..only in Saskatchewan would a brewery be a Crown Corp! If they put the shares out to open market, would anyone here buy them? I know I would buy a few.
What a contrast to the way things are done in Alberta.
Actually, in Alberta we would have been bankrupt and shut down 7 years ago. Here the government had some foresight and stepped in with a loan when the banks wouldn't help us. Now we're in a profitable position so the government can sell their interest and make a bit of $$$.
There's no compassion in Alberta. The currency of exchange is money and power. If I were starting out life again I would move to Saskatchewan.
As long as they don't sell their shares to Labatts or Molsons, it should be OK. Maybe they should transfer the brewery to my Provincial Gov't dept, and turn it into the Saskatchewan Liquor, Brewing and Gaming Authority. You'd likely have permanent prime floor space!
starting any time in sask is a good thing to do
