Just wondering if Red Rider and anyone else in the Okanagan or around Kamloops can fill us in on what is happening to them due to the fire situation.

I heard 200 houses burnt down in Kelowna, and several thousand evacuated. Hope my Condo hasn't burnt down =O
My parents are on evac notice. The fire is 3km from their home. As of this morning 45 more homes were burnt to the ground. It's scary to think about losing everything. My husband and I annually visit the Okanagan for the wine festival. Already a few vineyards are gone.
Kitkat, I pray your parents don't lose everything. We visit Southern BC every summer and just returned from the Kalowna area a couple of weeks ago. As I said before my thoughts and prayers are with everyone who is affected by any of the fires. I have a friend leaving on Tuesday for BC to help with the fires, he is not sure yet which fire he will be working on. God speed!
I agree magpie! I just hope that something happens soon, I have a few friends in B.C. only have been able to hear from one and so far they are on notice. They just moved in the fall, their old place has burnt already.
248 houses now. A lot of them 300,000 to 500,000 dollar homes. It raced through the more up class area of town. The smoke hangs heavy in the Okanagan. The Kelowna fire is still big, but not the fire storm it was on Friday. Naramata, which is on the south end of the fire had a lot of time to do some back burns, so they are ok. Now we have another fire burning quite bad South of Penticton, and it's out of control as well. I guess over the weekend the smoke was so thick in Kelowna that you were hard pressed to see across the street at times. BC is a burning.
