Perhaps it was dreadfully naive of me to think that CMT might actually incorporate the idea of boomerang and boomerang2 notes into the site.
As many would be aware, WheresWilly? already allows notes to be re-entered in extreme situations. In light of that, I've passed my suggestions along to those controlling that site.
Should changes (incorporating my suggestions) ever be made to the WheresWilly? site, dr and his assistants may someday decide to copy the idea from there.

I'm not really sure what would constitute a satisfactory result in this case. The idea has been expressed and reiterated and some have agreed in its merit. The current state of affairs has been explained ad nauseam. And now we have what we might call in logic, a "call to questionable authority" – viz. whereswilly. A word to the wise… suggesting that ANYthing about that site is superior to this site is NOT the way you want to go about effecting change here. :)
I guess I am just curious about the need or motivation for the proposed change. Our stated goal here is to track the flow of money. It seems the current rules allow us to do that quite efficiently. I, like many others, have encountered the so called "boomerang" notes. I can easily check to see when I entered that note and how long it has been in circulation and even what comments I made. I would call that note "tracked". I am satisfied. Any other way of dealing with this just invites misuse. Exactly what significant advantage is it to include "boomerangs"?
You say that the other site, in extremis, will allow entry of "boomerangs". I am certain that, in the past, that has been the case here. The current stewardship of this site likely precludes that practice. That's just the way it is.
As was stated, if we were allowed to enter a bill more than once with no other reason (no value other than tracking) it would show that a note has stayed in our community or area or has returned to the same and it would be valid. I for one joined this site to have my notes tracked and believe it would be an enhancement to have this possibility added. I do not want to debate the possibility of abuse nor do I care as it would be of no value to abuse this privilege. The boomerang should not count for any stats but only be there for the interest of those who truly wish to track notes…It would be nice to see this added but if it does not I will probably add this to my profile for the next boomerang I get and those that are interested can check my profile.. So if you agree please comment, if you disagree please comment, but let's not debate whether or not it will come to be…
