How about this? DR bills us for each bill we enter. at 1 cent per bill, we could have contributed 9146.00 as of this posting. Bills getting hit are no charge. Volume users get a discount, of course…

Just funnin' y'all- the cost to work this idea would kill it. My opinion on this ad vs donation idea is that I prefer to kick in a few bucks- I really enjoy the site and I feel priviledged to contribute in any way I can.
Having said that, if DR wants to try the ad deal, that's fine too. There's an advantage to a steady income without having to feel like you have to ask for support from the users. I've seen some very tasteful ad schemes on sites that didn't wreak the look of the site. I'm sure DR isn't going to do anything to degrade the look of this site- it's kind of a showcase for his programming abilities, and I think he will keep this site a class act.
He's got my support either way.

I like the Bill-O-Meter idea for a small amount, problem with that is that you would have to wait until a user reaches a certain number of bills b4 starting otherwise people may never want to enter any bills.
Only problem with the Bill-O-Meter is that it turns the site into a Pay to use site. As DR said he wants to keep it free to use.
I consider myself a moderate user, but some of the smaller users definately wouldn't pay. Some of the larger users wouldn't want to pay cause it would cost too much. Then there is the factor some people wouldn't be able to affort to use it.

I tend to agree with Idjit on the ad vs donation idea. Either one is okay with me.

However, the bill-o-meter outright scares me. :o
