Yet another hit from willy but not entered at CMT
Anonymous hit.
I think williers do this so that we don't know who is entering them there, but not here.
As it is stamped with our CMT stamp why would an anonymous user enter it at another site than the one stamped?
Does it make any sense you any of you ?

makes it tough to wanna play fair when you know you should be getting more hits than what you are.

I HAVE A WW bill here now. i entered here only so far. i will eventually get around to entering it there. i have amonster stack of fives to go through first and also my darn income tax and the monthly tax report. it will sit on my desk till i have time. i will eventually enter it though before spending it. I am not childish enough to not enter it.

but them entering the bills anonymously to their site is pretty childish. I actually have about 10 hits at wheres willy and about 6 of them entered here.
so not all their members are.. unfriendly.

Seriously, though- don't take these things personally, because you don't know why folks make the decisions they do. I'd spend more time trying to figure out how to get ordinary folks to enter our bills rather than fuss about the few that end up in other sites' users hands.
Besides, one wise old feller said: "Don't say 'if I were you, I'd do such and such' because if you were him, you'd do exactly what he did because you waz him!" (siddown and figger that one out…)
You'll have to forgive me because I'm fairly new still, but what is this whereswilly? I've never heard of them before. Is this a competing site to ours?
Whereswilly is another site for tracking money. Since money tracking is a hobby, they aren't really a competing site. It's most popular in Eastern Canada. Some people track at both sites, others just track at one or the other.

Well LC, sorry to hear you missed out on a hit. I'm a little perplexed as to why it was entered at WW, unless you had stamped it with both sites. In that case you shouldn't be complaining about the lost hit. I would expect that most people however would enter it at the place it was marked, especially not knowing beforehand that it had been entered in both places.
Please, unless you know for sure it was a WW registered user who entered the bill which in that case you would take it up directly with them, then don't put all of us in the same boat!
I've stated before that most trackers(no matter which ever site you favour)would enter the bill where it originated and treat it as if it were their own. Unless the person knew it was yours and intentially did what they did, none of this seems to make any sense. Arguing this when nothing more can be done is moot. I seem to recall that this happens kind of regularily and while unfortunate, don't see the need to lose any sleep over it.
Interesting that the 'hit' came from a local, where CMT is predominant and certainly would explain your shock and dismay.
hey couz I entered one a few days ago that belonged to a colleen from regina… :) I entered it at both sites… but let it fly free with just the red writing ALL over the back… think she really wanted the site noticed hehe
Just let it go; as I've said over and over in the grand scheme of things it just isn't worth complaining about.

I didn't know there was more than one site to track your money. How long have they been around? Are there anymore out of curiosity? I'm sticking with this site. It was this site that was marked on a bill that I came across last fall so I'll stay here. If I do find a bill marked with another site (whereswilly) I will give that bill a hit.
This site has been around since 1999. Willy I believe was started in 2001 (?) and there is one other site, though I can't remember what it's called.
I am not sure about the dates, but meangene is right.
CDN-money.com started the canadian money tracking
then www.whereswilly.com started up ( spin off of www.wheresgeorge.com ( tracks american money )
as far as I know wheresgeorge started it all.
then recently www.whib.com started up they track american & canadian money.
As for giving the hit to wheres willy users. that is what I do. And would like to think of it as an unwritten protocol to give the user a hit, as I know I ( stamping my money with cdn-money.com ) would like to receive my hits here.
The other site is WhereHaveIBeen. All three are equally good as each has their good points and bad, but overall, I'd say their all the same. We should stop drumming up the negative and work on the positive. How about if any CMTer finds a WW bill or WHIB bill, give them the hit with a comment that the hit is curtosy of a CMTer. Sound good?

me not complaining. and yup hand written in bright red ink! that would be colleens. i entered it at both sites and DID NOT WRITE this site on it. left it as is. spent it today too!
That's exactly what I would do. I've only found one Willy bill and mentioned that I tracked here in the comments. I've yet to find a WHIB bill.
I found a WHIB bill a few weeks ago. It was marked with WHIB and CMT. I entered on both to find that it was not entered on CMT but was on WHIB….
Thank you Bill Collector. Those are my thought exactly. How can one tell if it was really entered by a WW tracker or not? For me the whole idea here is to track your bills. If you got a hit over there than you know were your bill has gone to.
I got a hit today from Foxtrot an whereswillier… I must say a big thank you to her… she not only entered my bill but she also went over my stamp and darkened the info on it… so many bad comments but here's a good one… thanks foxtrot :)
I see the bill recently got a hit at this site and a new user to boot.
