I woulda came in if i saw the forum in time & had a chance to get tickets..
my mom said she bought tickets to put up.. but never got in on time..
:) maybe we can do this again if no one won..
:) can make it a weekly thing.. but a $2 / $3 tickets would be better for small draws.. if people are interested

I would be interested, but we should have a cut off before friday?! I didn't see this post until it was to late. We don't have a lottery terminal in my town!! Plus we have a much better chance as tickets can come from all over Canada!! Maybe post numbers by midnight Thursday?? All posted are in the draw??

If we want to make this a regular thing perhaps we could ask dr to setup a separate forum for CMT Lotteries?

1) What if I don't have a scanner?
2) Smaller prize claims ie: $10, $2, Free ticket, buy more tickets like some office pools would do?
3) For a larger prize claim, how should the winnings be sent to the rest of the participants?
4) Play Lotto 6/49 as well? Was going to say Western 6/49 but that's not available out East.
5) All tickets are $5 purchases?

I like this idea, especialy for the BIGGER draws. More chances of winning. :)

1) Post the numbers, ensuring that they are accurate.
2) My suggestion would be to buy more tickets with any small winnings.
3) A meeting would have to be arranged and the money disbursed. I will check on the rules for groups as I know there is some issue with group wins…

I think samson and gouche92 are on the right track. I thought of the same things but I feel that Im too new to the site to suggest anything yet. Im still figuring out what goes on here but I sure would love to join in, if thats ok :)

Magenta nobody is too new to make suggestions for that sort of thing.
BTW Samson and gouche92 I agree with both of you, sounds like a good idea to me.

To make this easy and safe…
-keep the contribution amounts the same.
-decide on your rules, and make sure everyone is on board BEFORE you start.
-Get one person to buy the tickets. If one of the group forgets to buy the tickets, there will be trouble.
-the easiest way to transfer cash is by hyperwallet or Paypal (MmmBeer taught me this on one of our past group lotto deals).
-no pay, no play.
-decide how you will handle free plays if someone leaves the group.

Just a couple of ideas from an old hand at this. I ran a lotto group for a large company where we were buying $800- $1700 bucks worth of tickets a week. We had to use a spreadsheet to keep track of this…

Idjit brought up a good point about the free plays. What if someone leaves? I think that who ever was playing for that particular day (April 23 Super 7), their name carries forward with any free plays and/or cash generated from the original ticket until that "thread" of tickets come up "No Winner". Each week would be a "New Thread".

how ever it is set up is fine with me. Sorry I missed the 23rd super 7 but will go out and buythe 5 dollar ticket for next friday. I think I will go down to Suzuki's shop and give him my ticket as I have no idea how to display the ticket in the forum. Of course that is if GReg will hold it for me. But gouche92 you might have the right idea regarding a separate forum. Anyway for sure i will be getting my ticket for the 30th.

To me it sounds like people really want it, as I was talking to my hubby about it we were thinking that it might be a good idea to appoint someone as leader. Someone who can keep track of whos playing or not that week and someone who has a list of user names and addresses that corespond with user number on here. Just incase we happen to win. Its going to be a huge job though.

I agree, someone has to be the leader. But I like the idea of tickets being bought in all provinces. Maybe one person could receive and post all the tickets, and all tickets must be purchased by a certain date?? And free plays, small winnings go to next draw and those from that date are in that winnings??

I also like the idea of people buying tickets from each province we could scan the tickets and send them in by a certain time. Also teepeejay wants to know how scan tickets and put in forum under a link I do not know how so if any of you that know please tell us how to do this

i am in alot of groups already, and with the small winnings, more tickets are just purchased. As soon as lottery is drawn, if there is 10$ won or something, then more tickets are purchased, Free Plays are also won frequently, but no extra is put in. Maybe we should meet in the chat room… (lets make a date that its convenient for all interested).. and go over the rules.

Would be nice if we have at least one per province.

for scanned tickets, you have to upload the ticket to a particular place on the net.. then just create a link from that site.

I received teepeejay's ticket, but only viewed my email this morning. I was going to post his up, but it was kinda late, as the draw was over.

so in order to upload something like your ticket, you need a FTP program.. (ie. cute ftp).. you need a place to put this ticket.. (ie.. my site www.missbeehaven.com)… then you need to put the html code in here to link to the site…

When we meet, we can go over this all… if someone is missing space on a site, or doesnt have the proper programs to upload.. we can maybe get someone to receive the scanned tickets and upload them.. I have lots of space on my site, so it wouldnt be a problem.

I don't have a scanner. Does that mean I'm not eligible to play or will you accept my posting the numbers?

sounds cool to me! as long as I remember to buy a ticket. actually since i am on this site a lot, I am sure that I wont be able to forget as I read most of the forum(unless it is back a few pages, then I cannot be bothered to hunt for it)

I have tons of space on my domain as well.

The issue would be for people that don't have a scanner. We certainly don't want to exclude them. They may have to find a way to hook up with someone that has a scanner.

As for providing instructions on how to link to a where the scan resides, as J-Lynn mentioned it first needs to be uploaded to a site and then when you create your message in the forum enter the following:

replace the bolded items as follows ( with < and ) with > and changing the domain name location, directory and filename to the location where the file was saved. The target="_blank" opens the link in a separate page.

Post your message and you should end up with result similar to this example:

My personal preference would be for everyone to buy their own tickets this way we get not only the provincial coverage but could cover more places as well. Also if we all give our money to one person it would be unfair for that person to no be able to receive a hit off the bill and would give a better chance of receiving hit as well. The more marked bills the better.
