Hubby went to the City of Winnipeg, and I gave him $$ (yes, the female gave him money)… Anyways, of course they were ALL neatly marked…
He went to pay for sumptin and they refused the bill!!!! so he used the debit card.
I asked him where ???? and who ???? and only got the answer to the why!! They said that it was fake!!! So now he wont take any of my enhanced bills on his trips because this is the 3rd time this happens to him…
Guess i wont be sleeping with him until he take MY money!
So come on Winnipeg CMT'ers!! educated your people!!
I too would pay my hubby to go away. and yes with marked money. especially today. me thinks he has pms. or is going through menopause or something. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

j-lynn… fortunately my stamped money has never been refused at any establishment – elsewise i'd have to get cynical and sarcastic, even moreso than i sometimes am HERE! :) i would certainly not start looking for alternatve modes of payment – probably more likely to just leave what i was to purchase on the counter with loud comments directed over my shoulder about how a competitor would likely be happy to take my money. education, in this instance, is not the key. retribution is more suited. :)
I've never had a problem with my marked bills. The most reaction I got was from a constable at the local cop shop when I paid a parking ticket.

Simple reply… "If it's fake (counterfeit, bogus, etc.), do you really think I would mark it and draw attention to it? But if you think it's fake, call the police right now. I can wait right here in front of the till."
I'm glad you said that Pooga. I've never had a problem myself with marked bills (most cashiers who have noticed them actually think it's a great idea), but if that situation ever arose, I would definitely say something to that effect. If I'm a criminal (don't worry, I'm not :p), the last thing I would want is that kind of attention to be brought to me, especially since most stores have video surveillance.
IT MUST ALL BE IN THE WAY HE LOOKS WHEN HE TRIES TO SPEND IT. IF YOU LOOK GUILTY OR NERVOUS THEN TELLERS GET WORRIED.
I SPEND MANY AND NEVER HAVE A PROBLEM. SEND ME YOUR BILLS I'LL SPREAD THEM AROUND FOR YA. :-)

hahahahah well J-Lynn that is too funny. I am busting a gut. Recently sent a male friend of mine to the bank to deposit 1800 bucks in my account. They were all 20's and all marked and the bank wanted to know where he got the bills from and talked to him about money laundering. He was so embarrassed he said he would never go to my bank again. I was so upset i called the bank and demanded to know what the heck that was all about. I had to call down and educate a bank manager. Sheesh that is pretty scary being accused of that and you are making a deposit and you have been a member of the bank for a racoons age.
I had a problem at the truck stop and went beggin truckers to trade bills so I could have a drink and play the slots…. so my sister entered one of my bills cause she traded with me… lmao even wally had to trade bills with the owner of the place so we could play the slots there… some places are picky… I know the Bank of Montreal gives me a hard time if I try to deposit a marked bill into Tia's account… not like 5 bucks is gonna matter to a 12 yr old
Your bank should know the rules about money laundering.. if they are to practice their money laundering, they should get the right figure involved.
