IT IS OFFICIAL!!
There will be a gathering of Saskatoon and area users (and any users who happen to be in town) on St. Patty's day!
Date: Sunday March 17th
Time: 2:00 pm - whenever
Place: Officers and Sr NCM's Mess,
Sgt Hugh Cairns VC Armoury, 930 Idylwyld Dr North
(The place with the big old artillery gun on the front lawn)
I suggest parking on the south side, access from Idylwyld or by the Harry Bailey pool.
Two sets of doors face Idylwyld Drive, use the set on the right when facing the front of the building. There is a doorbell you may have to ring. When inside, first doorway on the right, up the stairs, then first door on the left. See you there!
(Pooga-you bring the beer, I'll bring the green dye.)
Sounds good.
I might be able to bring a little hard lemonade as well.
Who's bringing the munchies?
Once the boarding season is over, perhaps I'll hop a WestJet flight and swing by for a gathering. :)
Or even better, drag my riding buddies out and ride to Saskatchewan on my sportbike. Don't tell anyone, but I've actually never been to Saskatchewan.

I live on Vancouver Island and I've been to Saskatchewan twice.
I'll pick up some chips or some popcorn to nuke…
I've actually never been to Saskatchewan
And you're so close! Well if you drive, be prepared to drive the most boring piece of highway in Canada. But it is in Alberta. From Hanna to Oyen is probably the dreariest 100 km you'll ever travel.
Sarge: Maybe MASTER can get his hands on a pizza, or at least some bread sticks :-)
Pooga, you've never been on the road between S'toon and Yorkton…
I'll bring- something different.
Hey Y'all! Any chance we'll see you at the gathering? I know it's quite a hike for Hoggs, but it would be great to see you come out.
I'm actually not sure if I can make it now guys….my fiance's mom is getting re-married that sunday(last minute thing)
How do you have a last minute marriage? Is that a "Saskatchewan thing?" :)

you've never been on the road between S'toon and Yorkton…
Sarge and I have been down that road MANY times. Doesn't compare with the Hanna stretch.
well, ya see DR, they have been planning it for a while but they just didn't tell anyone when it was going to be. They're just having family and close friends so it's not that big. Crazy old folks! So that means I get to drive down to Swift Current, go to the wedding, drive back, and THEN work till 11. What a day!
Pooga, drive between Vancouver and, lets say, cache creek. They have cactus growing there. Ive drove To s'toon before, not that dry compared to My opinion..
one of the most boring drives I've had to make was between Prince Albert and Laronge all you see are the trees with no stops along the way.
I've been down that road so many times I hate it. There used to be some interesting stops (Kandahar Steakhouse), but now I resent every curve… Maybe you have to drive that Hanna stretch more than 100 times…
At least the Hanna stretch has Burrowing Owls and Ferruginous Hawks in the Spring/Summer. The road from Edmonton to Fort McMurray sounds like the one describe to LaRonge, boreal forest, dark and brooding.
I hate the drive up to Ft. McMurray, we went there through a blizzard, couldnt see much at all. But when we did catch a glimps, dark forests.
See, being from the prairie, dark forests are interesting to me. Flat prairie, old deserted farmhouses, and squished gophers and skunks on the road don't do it for me anymore. When I ask my kids where they want to go on vacation, its "the mountains" or "the ocean" or " the woods". (translation: anywhere but here)
Idjit, you put an interesting twist on "Saskatchewan tourism"
I can't believe there is so many messages about Saskatchewan's roads.
But they are very BORING, mind you everything else here is too.
Well I'm off to do what us Sask. folk do best…DRINK….
Thats all there is to do, but if anyone is out and about
Maybe you will run into me tonight, First stop Boston Pizza East in Regina, then who knows.
Party on Saturday, so I wont be online for awhile.
none of that makes sense does it
But they are very BORING, mind you everything else here is too.
Well I'm off to do what us Sask. folk do best…DRINK….
Well your drinking doesn't have to boring…. there's the only beer made in Saskatchewan (as of March 31)…
Go Great Western!
Is it available in Alberta? ie Great Western
Actually, yes. Brewhouse and Brewhouse Light are available in many liquor stores, and are the house brand at the Superstores. And we make the beer for the Coop. In B.C. our Gold sells very well, and our Light is starting to go in.
But B.C. is very protective of it's liquor industry… as are some other provinces. Free Trade? Hah! It's easier to ship to the US than B.C. or Ontario.
