Help Fill My Sweet Tooth

I am fairly certain that there will be several of you, who after reading this will question my sanity. Don't worry about it, you won't be the first. In fact my wife does it on a daily basis. Now on the the subject of this post.

About 4 or 5 years ago I discovered a really unique flavour of Ice Cream at a local corner store. When I first seen it I was a little unsure. But I've always been willing to try new things at least once. Much to my pleasant surprise I found that it was great. I started going back to the store every couple of days just to satisfy the craving.

Once summer was over the store owners shut down the Ice Cream portion of their business so I had to suffer over the winter. When spring arrived the following year I quickly hastened to the store to get my first taste of the year. I was extremly disappointed to find that they could no longer get in my favorite.

Although a few years have passed since I was able to taste this wonderful treat I still find myself occasionaly waking in the middle of the night suffering from withdrawls. So now I'm asking for your help in locating a new source. And please don't think I'm crazy.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND CAJUN ICE CREAM?
(See I told you that you would think I'm a little crazy.)

I just can't imagine Cajun Ice Cream, although given the fact that I always enjoyed Deep Fried Ice Cream at Chi Chi's restaurants, I suppose it isn't out of the ordinary.

When you're in Saskatoon, you may want to drop into Homestead Ice Cream, on Victoria. They make thier own and if you make it sound yummy enough, they may try to invent a recipe.

I have never heard of it but I wonder if someone in the acadian area of the Maritimes might make it. 'cajun' is just the American version of 'acadian'. Have you tried an internet search? Sometimes the strangest things show up on the web.

I'll try to answer the questions plus provide a bit more information in my quest to get cavities.

First of all I can't remember the company that made the Ice Cream right now. It's a fairly common one.

Thanks for the Saskatoon suggestion. I'm supposed to be there for a meeting at the end of June. If my memory doesn't fail me, I'll check out that Ice Cream Palor.

And yes I have tried an Internet search with a couple of different search engines. No luck on anything.

In my original post I should have mentioned that I live in Saskatchewan. I also should have given a bit of a description of the Ice Cream. The only thing that is close is that it's similar to a Praulines and Cream but with a bit of a kick. I'm not sure what they used for spicing the Ice Cream up but one of the ingredients would probably Cayenne Pepper maybe even some Chilli Powder. It was kind of an interesting sensation when you would eat it. First you get the cold sweet taste and then the burn would start at the back of your throat. Enough babbling for now. Time to get back to my quest of recreate this treat.

I know the ice cream you are talking about. It was available for a short time several years ago at the general store in Flesherton Ontario.(near Meaford) I'm not sure if they still have or not? And it WAS good.

Not sure about a cajun ice cream. My personal flavourite has always been vanilla ice cream with peanut butter.

Did try a new yougurt today though… maple flavoured… quite nice!
