Ah that sucks Wally!!!..they have only made the bill appear unsightly- the stamps dont do that, but the scribbling over the stamp with a marker sure would! – Really How Petty of them!!

Some people have a problem with Life mainly there Own- I guess that is there problem- To bad Wally- but you you did get the hit- Now we just look for a Bill with a big black spot on it and still record it.

tis a pity but hppens more then one realizes there is a store in weyburn that if u spend marked bills in it they auto mattically black it out right in front of u and the Bank of Montreal here auto removes marked bills

Marked bills alone will not get destroyed.
However them being blacked out will.
I printed out the letter from bank of canada and took it to my bank of montreal to show them it is ok..
& they stopped sending them to B of C as a mute bill.
J-Lynn told me something neat, with her working at a bank.
I shouldn't have said anything to the bank of montreal here.. they woulda sent the bills to B of C.. then they woulda been redistributed for spending. ( hopefully all across canada )

They (bofc) do redistribute the bills.. if the bill is in good condition and only has our enhancements, yes they will send them on to another F.I.

This is how i found my first bill..

FIRST DR WOULD NEVER GIVE OUT AN IP ADDRESS FOR SUCH A THING, YES IT IS TO BAD HE DID SUCH A THING BUT AT LEAST HE GAVE YOU A HIT AND TOLD YOU STRAIGHT UP WHAT HE DID. NOW IF WE FIND THE BILL WE CAN RESTAMP IT. AS FOR STORE WHO CROSSES OUT THE STAMP ,,, I WOULD YELL NEXT TIME AS TO WHY THEY DEFACE GOVERNMENT CURRENCY. PUT THE SHOE ON THE OTHER FOOT SO TO SPEAK.

I agree Bankcollector… and if you see someone blackout a bill deliberately defacing an Almost Uncirculated bill could you report them to someone as well?

I agree with everything posted here. Defacing the bill by blackening out the stamp only destroys the bill. I'm sure someone will see that bill with the "big black splotch" and enter it and restamp it for me(I hope anyway)

I also find it amusing how everyone has assumed the guilty person is MALE…..C'mon now….not all bad people are men!!!….lol
