Browser foibles?

dr: Another thing that came up at our gathering had to do with bill entry.

Why is it that I can only enter 46 bills before the 'add bill' screen resets itself and I have to start from scratch? Idjit and a couple of others have never had that happen to them.

Second question: Why can't Sarge and I hit 'enter' to enter our bills instead of reaching for the mouse, yet others say that 'enter' works for them!

Idjit

I am sure it's either your browser or your computer. I remember a study that was circulating at university that showed people who used Macs had lower IQs. Just an interesting tidbit of information. I'm sure there is nothing to it…

I would like to know why when i enter a bill, say today, and put it do i got it 1 week ago, It says hat i have not entered a bill today?

kaiser

Its because, technically, you didn't enter that bill today. You entered it a week ago. You enter a bill today if it says that you got the bill today. Understand?

Pooga:

  1. Regarding the 46 bill limit; no idea. Never heard or run into that before. I will investigate further.

  2. Umm, that "enter" ability is a browser feature. I have no control over that whatsoever.

  1. 46 bill limit: That's odd, I seem to recall you commenting on it once before. Might have been last April or May though.

  2. Now I'm confused. The same browser (NS 4.72) 'enter' will work on some sites and not on others. I assumed it was in the site coding.

Do you mean the same browser for the same platform on the same machine? Hmm, well I can look into it a bit perhaps, but to be honest, trying to build HTML for all browsers and all versions over all platforms is practically impossible. The problem is that no one follows standards, and as much as I hate to admin it, Netscape is the worst.

I agree. Netscape you have to add completly different codes (HTML) for it to display properly. Thats why you have, on some sites an option to enter in a different Browser. Also some sites say, "best veiwed in Netscape 11, or best viewed in IE 9.65"

Does anybody use Opera?

Some guys here at my office use it. I would say it is second best, though during Mozilla's unstable days, Opera was number one for sure. Today, however, I don't think you can beat Mozilla for speed of rendering and compliance to standards.

www.mozilla.org … it's the opensource version of Netscape. It's what the new Netscape is built on. All good. Mac-friendly? Umm, not sure. Giver a go!
