BC don't think of it as payday.
Think of it as revenue sharing day.
These employees are the ones who earned you the money that you are paying to them.
LC IT IS NOT THE EMPLOYEES WHO GIVE ME THE 110% THAT MAKE ME HATE PAYDAY IT IS THE ONES THAT GIVE 60% AND EXPEXT I OWE THEM A LIVING THOSE ARE THE ONES THAT MAKE A BOSS HATE PAYDAY. I WILL ADMIT THAT I HAVE A FEW EMPLOYEES WHO EARN EVERY DIME OF THEIR PAY AND MORE BUT THEN I HAVE SOME WHO AT TIMES BARELY EARN ME THEIR WAGES LET ALONE A PROFIT.
SOME EMPLOYEES MUST LEARN THAT AN EMPLOYER EXPECTS GOOD VALUE FOR HIS MONEY AND IF YOU EXPECT TO GET ANYWHERE IN A COMPANY THEN SHOW YOUR BOSS VALUE AND DO YOUR 110%.
I once worked at a place and in 9 to 12 (once in a rare while 7) minutes with an open panel garage door, I could butyl tape, install glass, butyl tape and put in the quarter round. (uncut quarter round that I cut with a hack saw to perfection or close to it) also stapled in the quarter round with an air gun. and I got paid less than the males working for same company who took 15 to 27 minutes.
Yes BC I can understand that 60% comment.
I used to put in 150% doing the work of 2 people..
Moving furniture. I calmed my self down to 110% & shake my head at the others who work at 50%
Even though I don't pay the paychecks anymore. It still ticks me off seeing those who think they work hard and really only HARDLY work.
Why should those of us work hard earn the same as the Dog #*(&%#$ ?
BANKCOLLECTOR, I agree with you and Lord_Comedy about the slacker-type. It is frustrating, to say the least, to work with these types. Even more so when they're buddies with the boss and nothing much gets said to them about it.
That's the problem with hiring friends. They think they can goof off because they know the boss, and the boss has to either bite the bullet and say something and risk pissing off thier friend or not and risk upsetting thier hard working employees.

LC IN MY COMPANY THOSE WHO WORK HARD ARE OFTEN TAKEN OUT FOR LUNCH TREATED WITH SMALL GIFTS AND GET RAISES FASTER AND SOONER THEN THOSE WHO PUT IN THE MINIMUM EFFORT. AND ANTICS I HAVE WOMEN WORK FOR ME AS SUPERVISORS AT GREAT PAY I AM NOT A MALE DOMINATED COMPANY. EQUAL MEANS EQUAL.

I wanna start this post with a joke so you understand fast.
& have a laugh.
3 kids are sitting around arguing about whos dad is the fastest.
1st kid says My dad is sooo fast he can shoot an arrow & run & catch it.
2nd kid says that isn't fast. My dad can shoot a gun & run & catch the buulet.
3rd kid say that is NOTHING. MY DAD work for the CITY.
He work till 4PM and is at home at 2PM.. NOW that is FAST.
Now that we have all had a laugh.
My current employer is pretty good too.
If we have a job that isn't charged out by the hour, as we normally do.
He will say ok this is estimated at say 6 hours ( which usually means about 5 - 5 1/2 hours ) and you charge X number dollars + Tax.
Incentive we get paid for 6 hours no matter what cause this customer wanted a flat rate, no matter how long it takes us. OUR incentive is we get paid 6 hours even if we are done in 3 hours.
I was working with 1 other guy last week. where all our jobs were booked for 3 people. But again all flat rate moves.
we had 2 - 4 hour moves for 3 people. we were done in 6 hours. as a bonus cause those jobs were booked for 24 man hours
we took home a 12 hour check for 6 hours work.
However, MY helper & I busted our nuts for those 6 hours, so we could go home early.
I do know with some of the other guys at our company, there is no way I woulda been home so early if I worked at their pace.
Yeah well I hate Tax Day but like Payday.
