new version status

For those of you on edge for the new version, here is the OFFICIAL word: things are so close I can taste it. However, there are a few new features that aren't done yet that I really want to add which are holding up the release.

I also gave in to the inevidable and dropped some serious money on a brand new Dell server, which arrived late last week. I haven't finished setting that up either and I don't want to have to deploy the new version twice. So I'm waiting till such time that I can deploy the new server and the new version at the same time.

Finally, I have started a thread in the contest forum to guess when the new version will be released. The people who guesses closest (and answers a skill testing question) will get some sort of prize (yet to be determined).

Always wondered about that phrase.

It doesn't say that you have to answer the question CORRECTLY, just that you answer.

Whose skill is being tested? The questioner or the respondant? And if it's the respondant, can they pick a category that they're actually skilled in??

In this case, is there a time limit, or can I take 3 days to reply?

Just some questions that make you go "hmmmm".

Isn't the skill testing question "When the new version will be deployed?"? There is skill involved if you get that right.

My favourite skill testing question was: "What is your address and what size do you wear?" when I won a t-shirt. Get that one wrong and you don't get a prize.
