Quoting in italics

Simply… how is it done? I feel sillyish. How come my message doesn't quote someone else's all nice and pretty like everyone else is does are? What can I did?

What MmmBeer is trying to say is that you use the EM tag in HTML in your message like this:

<em>Blah blah blah</em>

And you end up with this:

Blah blah blah

You shouldn't use the 'I' tag as it's not-so-standard HTML and not all browsers understand it.

It's not a matter of working for YOU, it's a matter of will it work for the browsers used the 20,000 other times the message is viewed. That's why you should use standard stuff. Let's say I have a bleeding edge web broswer that has enterprets <MEGABIG> look like this on my browser. Well, that's fine cause it works on my browser, but when everyone else views it, they see this (no change). See what I'm saying? And that, kids, is why you should use standard HTML in your messages. Plus, in an upcoming version, I'm going to remove all HTML except for certain tags, one of which will be the <EM> tag.

So dr, if you could give a brief rundown on a few standard tags to liven up messages…

em = itallic
b = bold
u = underline
strike = strikethrough

… like that. I remember doing one on colour once before too.

Colour is BODY BGCOLOR="SIX LETTERS OR NUMBERS OR BOTH"

You need the quotations.

Actually that is for the entire page and only works once, that is, the body colour is already set to white at the top of the page.

Why are you going to take the em tag and other HTML out of the messages in the new version? I think the em tag is good for quoting things… some tags you could take out but come on… leave some!

oh I thought you meant that you were going to remove tags and one was going to be the em tag… alright dude.. your the webmaster, your the boss! When the new version comes out will you let us know what tags still work?
