Server slow?

It seems to me that the server is slow lately. Anyone else noticed this? It's happening both at home and work (on my lunch break, of course!), so I don't think it's just me.

I find that when you first type the site in and push enter it takes longer than when your on the site for a while.

I just make this site my home page :)

HA HA HA HA …. we're hopeless addicts! I wonder if we'll get a rank promotion for this.

Hmmm… the site is still slower for me than it used to be. Again, both at home and work. Throughout the site, including message board, and going back to home page, etc… DR, any idea why?

Perhaps if dr wasn't so busy creating figure-heads he would have time to fix the place up. I wonder if bloodlines have anything to do with rank…..

The server is no slower for one person than it is for anyone else. Any super slowness is due to your internet connection. Now, that said, the two slow pages on the site are: the home page, once you've logged in (typically takes 6-8 seconds for me) and the message board list (typically 8-10 seconds). Both of these pages are database intense; the home page due to all the calculations and the message board because it has to figure out how many messages in each forum are new for each individual. Both of these things are being addressed in the new version of the site, due out sometime… this year. But trust me when I say that it is practically impossible for anything on the server to be making something slow for one user and not another. :)
