Can anyone recomend a network router? I tried a Linksys and after spending 4 hours to set it up, I gave up and took it back. They just don't support Windows 98. I downloaded a D-Sys DI 624 manual, and it looks like it supports Win 98, so I might try it, but I just thought I'd ask y'all what you thought…
i bought a microsoft router – only because it was going to be compatible with windows or there would be hell to pay. i haven't had a lick of trouble with it and it is incredibly easy to set up and maintain (i am, however, using XP, but the networked computer was 98 to start with). i got it about a year ago so it's only about 15 years obsolete now. yeah, i supported the MS evil empire and likely spent $10 too much but it works and i'm happy. just my nickel's worth…
I run 3 computers on my router each with a different operating system (one of which is Windows 98). I use a D-Link DI-604. It is fast and reliable, also the setup is through a web like interface which will work with all the settings to their default. I have not had any problems and use it as a firewall. It should cost about $29 on sale. It is still on the market.
I have a Linksys 4 port Cable/DSL router (model BEFSR41 V.2)and run 4 computers on high speed…it has a built in Firewall and works great. I'm not sure the wired ones are still available… with 2 boys in University our computers run almost non-stop.

I use this one as well. Running XP, 2000, Win98 and WinMe…
