This is a "General Discussion" forum. The point was asked about posting of members pictures in regards to meetings and the like. I don't think the discussion was aimed at "control" but more at what is the rule of law, not the rule of CMT….

JTJANITORIAL I AGREE WITH YOUR POST 100%. WELL SAID
So I ask again, in the code of conduct, who are "the powers that be", the real "site police"? Is rudyk one of them?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA IF HE WAS I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN JAIL SINCE I FIRST CAME ON SITE OR VERY SHORTLY AFTER. LOOK TO THE EVANGILISTS AS THOSE WITH SOME AUTHORITY AND THEN OUR SITE ADMIN. & OWNER OF THE CMT DR.
I would hope that we are all "mature" enough to police ourselves. If I posted a photo and someone did not like it, then I would expect them to ask me to please remove it and I would. Or blot them out with a puppy head or goblin or star etc. fake beards and mustaches are good too. :o)
Well said antics….
Thank you BANKCOLLECTOR

YOUR WELCOME TERRY AND PLEASE CALL ME MARK IT IS IN MY PROFILE.
tracking of money as concerns this site has rules. we abide by them as a community. when they are flaunted, members usually point that out. sometimes it is an innocent mistake or someone is unaware of the rules. in my time here, i have seen instances where violations of the rules were pointed out with reference to the "code of conduct". the complaints never made it to "the powers that be". the situation was rectified. not all traffic violations wind up in the supreme court. and sometimes, a "citizen's arrest" works as well if not better than another type. i, for one, have never viewed obeying rules as being "controlled" and when one is unaware of them, they are usually thankful to be apprised of them.
in the case of forums and the policy to which we adhere, discussion is warranted when activities begin to transgress the stated guidelines. when a member of a community sees rules being broken, it is incumbent upon them to raise the issue. this happens in communities all the time – without appealing to the "powers that be". have you read the letters to the editor page recently?
i seem to have been singled out in this discussion, despite the fact that it has been fruitful and worthwhile with many valid and divergent opinions being offered. i am, however, proud to have my name associated with it and to even be the champion of the cause… even moreso when the guidelines are on my side. that being said, my voice is just one. what the "community" chooses to do may be entirely different. as an individual, my prerogative will remain – be a part of the community by abiding its rules or leave. you share the same prerogative.
we exist here at the site originator's behest. he did an excellent job of creating a community that is self-sustaining. does the community want to run to him with every small problem? i have seen this debated and it remains a point of contention. my belief is that he has better things to concern himself with as "supreme being". and so "the community", of which we are both equal members, acts. i'm not sure about you, but i've always fancied the idea of self-determination. your mileage, as they say, may vary.
No contest- I know what ugly looks like- I have a mirror. I'll leave Rudyk to make his own pronouncements. I've never met him but if we ever meet at a 'gathering', we can decide who's the 'winner' then.
