Question To Y'all

Hey,
I don't know if any of you read a message I posted below (in the 86 '5s thread)…basically, my day was brightened by getting an old 1979 5$ bill in change last Tuesday. (And yes, it was because I spotted it in the till and specifically requested it; you should have seen the look on the cashier's face!) Anyways, it got me thinking. I know that some members deal with far more dollar bills than a casual money spender like me does (I am still amazed to see how many bills some people have marked!), and just wondered, now that we have yet another series out to replace them, how many of the multicoloured (1969-75) series bills people notice, or would guess are in circulation these days? A lot, depending on the denomination? Or are they now really rare finds? Personally the 69-75 series is my favourite of all time - simply beautiful designs, I think - and I just wondered what anybody's take is on the subject, especially anyone who deals with circulation money a lot in their jobs or free time.

I own a business in a community of 15,000, and I haven't seen anything from that series in years. I would guess one might pop up in my store about once every ten years or so. You might see more in the larger cities. Most people, even non-collectors, hang on to the ones they find, even if only as a novelty.
Cheers.
