Anyone have any experience with re-inking stamps(from rose marking devices in Saskatoon) with inkjet ink for computer printers? I have tried this just recently and found it takes a little longer for the ink to dry.. but the results have been fairly good…but….what is it doing to my stamp? Any thoughts or comments?…Gouche…this is kind of directed to you!

THE INK IN A SMALL BOTTLE FROM ROSES IS ONLY $2.99 AND WILL INK YOUR PAD FOR YEARS. I BOUGHT A SECOND STAMP PAD INSERT FOR ONE OF MY STAMPS SO I CAN CHANGE THE COLOR IN A FEW SECONDS. BUY THE CORRECT INK WALLY.

I personally keep 3 separate felt pads around in Blue, Black and Red. Unfortunately the red doesn't show up well except on small areas with small stamps. It took awhile to find refill bottles in all 3 colours, but they work just fine. Give the ink a sec to dry and settle and you're ready to hit the town!! Same when you use higlighters.

As far as Inkjeting your bills, you have to let the ink dry too and you can refill the cartridges but only so often before they start giving you problems. A couple of cleaning cycles should set your ink colours back to normal, but I would experiment on scrap paper first.

Hope this helps!!

Another problem with inkjet ink is that is is water based.
the stamp pad ink has a different base.

What I am say is. that once you refill you ink cartridge with inkjet ink is that it will smudge when it gets wet.. & will wash away.
I don't think the proper ink does.
As BC said.. Buy the proper ink.
I didn't know that inkjet ink will gum up your stamp pad, but i guess different inks would fight 1 way or another.
