new forum subject

Thanx for the new version, looks very cool.
I want to suggest something for an addition, it's been mentioned before, so I know the idea has followers.
If it isn't too hard, can you add a forum subject called "lottery posts" or something, so that the contest post isn't filled full of posts like that. I know users use that post right now, which is totally fine, but there are users out there that like to read the contest posts, and not the lottery posts. Since these posts are going to get posted, they may as well have their own forum. then users like me can just ignore that one.
Again, I have no idea how hard it is to add a forum, so the call is in your court dr. thanx again for the great site.

I'm with you, Eagle, except I don't think lottery belongs here at all. Far better to start a forum elsewhere, that's dedicated to those of us who like to participate in a lottery group. If anyone is interested in developing this, please contact me with private message. Thanks.

Since it was agreed back at the beginning of the lottery idea that a portion of any major lottery winnings (anything over $100) is slated to go to CMT/dr I think that having a place to post these messages on the CMT site is appropriate….

BANKCOLLECTOR

yes give them gamblers there own forum and free up the contest forum for things directly related to this site.
i have to agree with eagle-fs on this one.

Surely us gamblers can use a few lines in the forums. After all, it takes far less space than some of the childish arguments that take up page after page, only in the end to reach no conclusion. We only ask for "a few simple lines" to comunicate with our co-players. 2 cents.

I'm not disagreeing that you should use the forums for whatever you want, I just hope you get your own forum topic to talk about "lottery" in. If not, continue in the contest forum, no problem from me at all.
It would just be more convenient for EVERYONE (gamblers and non) if it was it's own topic.

A very, very good point!! Well said……

We have been asking for a separate message area for sometime. I agree it would be more convenient for all concerned if contests and lotteries were in separate forums….

Before Christmas there were quite a few. The last couple of months has seen it drop off. Who knows, it might not be worth it….

insane_monkey

I absolutely think it would be worth it. The contest forum always has something about the lotto in it, whether it is a big amount or not. But it also depends on how busy dr. is and how difficult it is him to add a new forum.

"Who knows, it might not be worth it…. "

This would be my point. Also, it may get lost in the golf forum, the arguing about nothing forum, the prairie sailing club forum and the snow shoveling forum. A newcomer to this site shouldn't be confused with non-tracking forums. If we want a lottery forum, I would suggest either opening an off-site forum, or joining an existing one. We can refer to the off-site forum from here, and it would be accessible to non-CMT players as well.

I don't remember the agreement regarding prize sharing with CMT, but I'm sure each player would spend their winnings wisely:)

I really don't see this as being a big deal. There aren't as many lottery messages as there used to be, and now with dr's wonderful little [X] button in the forums, all non-lottery users can blast a whole lottery thread away in a matter of seconds.

The simplest solution in my opinion.

Give Me Money has a good point there. The subject heading in contests always tells that it is about the Super 7 Lotto, so since I am not interested in it, I just don't look at it. Why having a seperate forum subject for it, it doesn't bother me.
