Well, as payday approches on Friday, the hubby has ok'd me for purchasing a stamp. I'm looking for suggestions on what to get. I hope to get a self inking stamp, and am wondering if blue, black or red is best. I'm guessing Red, as it would likely be more visible on the 5, 10, 20 and $100, tho it might be harder on the $50 and $1000. I'm unlikely to get many larger bills, so I'm willing to hand mark the red/pink bills with blue pen for the odd times I get my sweaty paws on one. laugh
Any hints on making an effective stamp that gets hints? What should I avoid, or what should I do to increase my chances of being seen and hit?

I don't think the phrase is as important as ink color and size of font. Popular belief is red gets more hits. Don't waste your money being shy. Trust me go big and stamp both sides.

At any rate, I'll try a few things here, as everyone has their own opinion on what is best. If you have an old self-inking that you don't use anymore, you can save a few bucks by having it changed. Red ink seems to be popular now, but I have had no complaints with the black that I use. Typeface size is another question. Mine is rather large, but it doesn't fit too well on some note series (like $20 and $50).
Another option is to laser print on bills that are crisp. CalamityJanet and Sarge have had success there.

I can attest to that. I use a black stamp with URL only. One side of the bill only. Not particularly vocal about the site. Hence, 4 hits (2 'kind of') since last Fall. On my list is a new stamp, red ink,large font, follow this bill@cdn-money.com
