I have access to a new, almost uncirculated $100 that is cut 1/8" low. That is, instead of ~1/4" between the serial #'s and the bottom of the bill, there is only ~1/8". No fancy serial #'s. If anyone is interested I can buy it tomorrow, otherwise I will mark it and send it on its way :)
Sounds interesting. I'll take it. Can you scan a picture to me? Thankyou.
Cute colloquialism. Never heard it before. Send me your address. I'll pop a money order in the mail.
Never heard it before.
You've NEVER watched the Simpsons?
My goodness! It's the defining artifact of our times!
…or artifice. I've never watched the show. I understand it has clever writing. Just doesn't fit into my schedule. Probably competing with some boring documentary on A&E. I drool over the similes used in "City Confidential".
They rank up there with Star Trek, man. I've noticed my mother and grandmother hate the Simpsons. Why is that? I will admit, reruns of the Simpsons aren't nearly as appealing as those of Star Trek…
It's not that I like them, but I have peasant vision (no cable or dish) so the choices when I get home and am making supper is either that or Hung and the Breastless.
Whatever.
But an artifact in that every time capsule from the '90s will have something about it.
Common thread with Star Trek…. boths shows made/make numerous politcal comments on current events.
I've been captured. I will make a point of looking at an episode. I'll pass the "Hung and the Breastless' on as my own quip.
To misquote an early episode of the Simpsons, with ref to Serotonin's not seeing it: Remember the episode where Bart catches a three-eyed fish in the run-off pond of the nuclear plant? When he calls a reporter 'bud' instead of 'sir', the reporter responded with "In my day we didn't speak to elders that way!" Bart answered back "But these are my days and that is what we do"
Perhaps we are past Serotonin's days?
In some ways I am an anachronism. I am watching 'The Simpsons" now. It is extremely clever writing. I liked 'the Rockin' Rumour Department" among others.
I started rockclimbing in an attempt to revisit my youth and times.
