Tax time

For the ones who still mail their tax return you can save a stamp… in Regina anyway, by dropping your tax return off at Revenue Canada. They courier a bag of them every day. This year I did the paper thing with our families' returns but hopefully next year I may go high tec and do them online. Would it be interesting to see how many do paper or on-line?

quicktax for this proud canadian taxpayer

I used it for years until this year when they decided not produce a Mac version.

Have switched to TaxTron (formerly GriffTax), which is out of Toronto.

I do both. I netfile my personal income tax, and do my GST return on paper. SO I guess you could say I go both ways. :)

Thank you for the great responses!!! Is anything except paper filing free to use? I do 4 returns for our family with education transfers. It doesn't take me long but the boys like their refunds quicker.

I get the Taxwiz program and do the returns on-line for the whole family (including in-laws). I got the software for $28 and sent in for the $5 refund, so at the end it only costs me $23. With this program you can do 5 returns over $25,000 income and unlimited under $25,000 (which works well for my family). I find that it goes way faster to get the refund when filed on-line then sent in on paper (used to do that for years).

I took mine to that new Treaty 4 building in Fort QuAppelle and someone there did it for free. It was done online. fast easy and free!! what more could you want?

Have you checked into tele-filing? I did it a couple of years back, and its free. It is faster than paper but not quite as quick as net-filing.

I used this one last year and it never cost me anything… and it was super easy I was done in less then half an hour :)
