someone here on the site is bound to know the postal code or how to get it for the bank of canada. I think that is a good postal code for out of country hits. hope one of them is mine!

Not sure.. but do Canadian consulates in each country have postal codes? they should even though they are out of Canada, they are considered part of Canada.
try looking up the Canadian consulate in germany.. see if it has a postal code.
If not you will have to use the Bank of canada postal code.

I found the address of Canadian consulate in Hamburg.

Canadian Consulate - Hamburg
Ballindamm 35
5th Floor
20095 Hamburg, Germany

As you can see they have local postal code. I will use now the Bank of canada postal code.

Thanks for your replys.

LC you are right, Canadian Consulates etc are part of Canada. All mail for the missions goes through Foreign Affairs in Ottawa. Their postal code is:

K1A 0G2

They have a seperate address for personal mail, so that Canadian government employees can have a Canadian address while living abroad. Then the mail is sent in the diplomatic bag. Depending on where you are posted you can receive mail (envelopes etc), or packages (hardship posts, where local mail service is unreliable). At Christmas we felt like Santa because of all the presents we sent. That Postal code eludes me, but it was always sent Station "A".
