I know this does not pertain to money but I wanted to share with you all that my little daisybobbin has passed away. I guess I needed to share this with you all. I am not sure why but I guess her memory is stamped on a multitude of bills. I am now using an older stamp to mark my bills.

i am so sorry to hear of your loss your little girl was as much a part of your family as any child. i am sure you will really miss her but think of all the good times and know she is in doggy heaven.

BC anthropomorphized:
i am so sorry to hear of your loss your little girl was as much a part of your family as any child.

animals are not people. is this REALLY a difficult concept????

she is in doggy heaven.

sheesh… no WONDER the world is becoming more secular…

sorry to hear of your loss, MM, but at least it isn't suffering anymore.

Rudyk buy a puppy have it for years, then get back to us with you opinion. Be truthful about your feelings and I am sure you will have changed your views. (that is if the puppy does not run away from your home first chance he or she gets. Most dog people become very close to their little loved ones and we who do not have children seem to feel they are or become our children.
Ask some CMT members who are dog owners and I am sure you will get the same answer time and time again. BDK and I took his little one out for ice cream just last month and I am sure he will agree with MM and I as to his feelings towards his dog.

As the father of 2 little furballs I agree - I have spent many sleepness nights staying up with a sick puppy just as I have when 1 of my 5 kids get sick - You have to experience the unconditional love of a puppy to really understand it.

Sorry to hear about your loss, maggiemae. My dog is getting up there in years, and I know I'll be sad when he passes away.

antics

My condolences maggiemae
and rudy rudy rudy………..I prefer my dogs to most people. they are much more humane and caring. not to mention that they completely idolize me as no one else will. p.s. Didn't your parents teach you that if you have nothing nice to say, it is always best to say nothing at all.

prefer my dogs to most people. they are much more humane and caring

humane • adjective : having or showing compassion or benevolence.

Obviously only something that a sentient human can do.

Maggie… I sympathize with your loss of a close companion and pet.

anthropomorphic : • adjective - attributing human form or feelings to a god, animal, or object

Sarge

My condolences as well. They do tend to develop their own unique personalities. One of my 'girls' (see my profile) is lazy and friendly, the other tends to be shy around strangers, loves to 'talk' and be scratched, but don't dare pick her up!

BTW, Pooga really does miss his old truck! LOL
(Remember his comments last year?)

JerBear

Sorry about your loss maggiemae – they do become a part of you and you a part of them.

Otaku

I am sorry about your loss maggiemae. We have a little rascal that is very much part of our family.

antics twisted the knife:
p.s. Didn't your parents teach you that if you have nothing nice to say, it is always best to say nothing at all.

actually, my parents taught me to stand up for that which i believe. thank you for reminding me of that (and for following your own advice). antics, as one of the few people here who knew that my remaining parent, my mother, had JUST passed away, i also thank you for your dubious sensitivity.

for you see, ladies and gents, a dog may be a companion and you may have feelings for it but it will never compare to a human life. to talk of "doggie heaven" and to suggest that it can be an equal of a true sentient and loving family member, i feel, degrades us all, cheapens human life and robs us of dignity.

you may believe that you get "unconditional love" or adoration from your pets and that, indeed, is your purview. i, however, prefer to EARN the love and respect that is accorded me.

and BC… i have lost cherished pets, that i have cared for for many years. but i have also lost dear friends and incredibly close family. i thank you to not presume to know me nor my experiences. if you actually believe that these ultimate events are in any way comparable, then you have either had an unfathomably easy life or you have been bereft of people who care about you (or you them). I suspect it is the latter. you have my pity.

Pooga

End of story.

Let's not get into that again.

dr was not very pleased last time. Hard to find a forum administrator from amongst us if we can't even administrate ourselves.

Everyone has different ideas and feelings on everything, which is what make the world so "uinque" Your feelings may not be the same as anothers, but you may have others they don't agree with. Instead of voicing your opinion, look at the topic and think…hmmm….is this really something to start??? Take a walk in someones shoes before you slam their lifestyle/decisions. I have and aunt/uncle who tried for years to have a child, adoption etc was always out of the question, (to young, not enough income, etc etc then too old) so they had dogs, their first at 45 and they were so proud, they are now older and the puppies are all grown up and passed on. But to them they are the children they were never allowed to have. My whole point is not about pets and people, but the different feelings everyone has towards different things. We are a "family" at CMT, different from many others, (some who don't understand why we do this)but we all enjoy this, otherwise we wouldn't be here. So even if your fellow tracker has a tragedy in their life, (that may be nothing in yours) how hard is it to come together and be supportive?? If the topic is not of interest to you, then just leave it. Please don't think I am being biased, but I have lost one son on this site from petty differences and would really like to bring him back. Please lets keep this fun, enjoyable, and put the family squabbles in the barn where they belong. I want to be here for a good time and a loooonnnnng time, lets keep it that way!!! (P.s. do not let anyone take this personally)

Kordi

Sorry to read about your puppy passing away, maggiemae. Pets are like children to any pet-owner and it is very hard to loose them. My feelings are with you.

easy? dont bet on that one. might not be as hard as some I have seen but not easy. not by a long shot. I learned NOT to care about a lot of people other than immediate family and then not all of them. they bite. (among other unmentionable things) and yes I know your mother just passed away and my condolances go out to you. I am certain it was a terrible loss. but standing up for oneself and being rude to someone who has lost something they loved is not nice. you did not have to say anything. people can love an animal as much as they want to. that is not up to you to tell them that it should not be.

MaggieMae,

I'm so sorry about your loss. Loosing anyone dear, pet or family/friend, is hard.

I don't know you, but I hope that me giving you a hug isn't out of place.

My most sincere sympathy as well to you MaggieMae on the loss of daisybobbin… I was checking for her photo in you profile but couldn’t find one. I have pictures everywhere to remind me of special people, pets and moments. I even take photos of bouquets of flowers and cut them out and paste them on my cupboard to remind me of the love I have been shown. The flowers are gone but the love is still there.
I don’t go to church very much but I often say “Thank you God for giving us such a nice little doggie to love” (and cat). They help reduce your stress level and teach you to be nice and loving. There is a reason they were put on this earth… as pet owners know the value of owning one. When I’m still asleep (retired now) and my husband goes to work and Shadow snuggles up to my back I get an amazing feel of comfort and love from her… sigh. They are precious and irreplaceable.
I have a Himalayan cat too than follows me everywhere beginning the moment I wake up to keep me company. She gives me a little lick on my toes or leg to say “Good morning”. She also doesn’t like to be held but is always near. The one thing about these pets are that they were both my mom’s and she is in a home and I am so grateful that I get to have them. I’m sure that there was a reason from above that made that possible and I am grateful everyday. People love people but pets really teach us how to go that extra mile. They are truly a gift to be loved and of course, missed.

Maggie sorry about your loss losing anything or anyone special is hard for anyone. I've also lost pets that I've loved dearly and I know how much it can hurt. Sorry its taken me so long to respond to this but I've been extremely busy and hope you will forgive my being tardy with this post.

joycer i have changed servers so my home page is not there right now but my sister is in the process of getting up and running and there you will see pictures of my beautiful little girl and even a picture of her mum. Daisy's mum died in a fire…so very sad, she was such a wonderful dog. I have many memories of my daisy all around me and I really thought that I could not have another pet. It has only been, well now 5 months but daisy curled up with me all the time and I am handicapped and she would get my slippers for me and collect the mail when it was dropped through the door. She would walk beside my scooter and when she wanted a ride she would stop walking and I would stop and she would just stand there staring up at me. Well then it was time for me to tell her to step up and she would sit on the floor of my scooter. I always kept her favorite blanket on the floor of the scooter and then she would decide to walk and she would hit my knees and so I would stop and tell her to step off. I have an empty spot in my heart and soon I will have another puppy and will give her lots of love and I will will receive unconditional love from her as I got from my daisybobbin. thanks for sharing stories about your children with me.
