My stamp has black ink. In the rare instances in which I don't have access to my stamp I try to use a red pen.

skylark I use black and did use red for awhile but sure did not show very well on the fifties and some of the other bills. So I use a black stamp now.

well I use black and red…. depending on how i feel like marking em that day… but I did find black the fifties and twenties, then red on tens and fives… get more hits. Using stamps gets more hits then the handwrites do. Atleast thats what I found. :) Hope all the comments help you out skylark.

I have 2 stamps. on the $50's you need black.. red shows up poorly, but on all the other bills red shows up nice.
but i use both red & black on my bills.
my self inking stamp i have a red & a black pad i can change
so the $50's i change it to black. but all other bills i have it red then my other stamp i dab on a black in pad.
the contrast really stands out. i think since i started doing that i have really increased my hit percentage. for 5% to almost 9% and this is only the last few months.
so a small % of my bills

Since I only get a few bills a week I print them, gives me lots of colour options :)
Thanks for the input, i'll be useing redish colours now :D

I use a red stamp, it seems to get noticed better then my handwriting in black before I had the stamp.

Like some CMTers I use 2 inks black on the 50s and red on all others, also I've found the placement of the stamp is another factor. Put it where it is most noticed. I stamp both sides.
