no problem mstiggs. We all have had different kinds of losses, family members, friends and pets. I will find another puppy and although she will not be my daisybobbin….she will fill a void within my heart. thank you mstiggs.

MaggieMae,
I'm glad the hug was received well. phew :-)
As MsTiggs said, I apologize for not replying sooner; I'm still new to this site & trying to figure things out & finding out different things.
Stay well, hope your new pet will be as loving and cute as DaisyBobbin.

just an update. i'd like to thank all of you for your condolences on the passing of my mother – i will remember the kindness of both of you. but good news! in the spirit of the ensuing discussion, i have decided to go out and get a brand NEW mommy! although i am certain that many would suggest that they are irreplaceable, i am confident that as soon as i can pick a new one out, the memories will fade. training a new mommy will be a chore but i'm sure it will be worth it! i just hope i can afford her shots! and when IS the best time to get them "fixed"? oh well… all in good time!
yaaabofa!
I am very sorry rudyk for the loss of you mother. Please accept my condolance… I didn't intentionally ignore your loss but got caught up in the loss of daisybobbin and sharing my pet stories. Mothers are very special and I don't look forward to facing the day when that happens for me. My father has been gone 3 years now and there are still moments that I wish I could have back.
My condolences as well to you Rudyk on the loss of your mom-no greater loss comes from losing one you love so dearly and to you maggiemae on the loss of daisybobbin.
I had planned on staying out of this arguement.
BUT
Once, Rudy decided to be silly I thought maybe I could.
1st I would like to say no one suggested you go get a new Mommy. We all know you can't. Furthermore if you had put a post in the forum yourself about your mother, I am SURE you would have received many condolences. This forum thread was for daisybobbin ,God rest her soul.
Pets are very dear to their owners, but by no means are people replacable.
Rudy I am sad for your loss.
Maggie I am also sad for your loss. I am happy you decided to get another puppy. Pets are a wonderful companions.
I hope this stops any silliness that I saw in this forum thread.

I can safely say that animals do not have souls. Religiously speaking, thats what sets humans apart from animals.
RudyK,
I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your mother, it is never good to loose anyone dear.
I hope that the condolences from the people here & the thoughts & memories that you have of her will help you through this time. a friendly hug

Depending on what religion you are talking about of course.
Can you honestly say 1 religion is any better than any other?
I am not sure which religion but it believes in reincarnation. with reincarnation - you are reincarnated & depending onhow you lived your previous life you either go up the scale or down the scale - animals & humans.
I don't believe in any 1 religion too strongly. But I do believe animals have souls. Wild animals may not be remembered as our pets are, but they have lived.
All dogs go to heaven.

Living in Canada, in the "Western" world, we live in a Judeo-Christian culture. From that prespective, with a little help from a wishy-washy St. Thomas Aquinas, I will concede that animals and plants have a different kind of soul.
"But technically or linguistically speaking, the word "soul" should be used to denote the mind, will, heart or conscience of an individual. The word "spirit" should be employed whenever we wish to convey one's immaterial or eternal self–that part of us which never dies.
(I)t is our misuse of the term which has caused our confusion. But soul and spirit are not technically the same. The soul is that unique inner self: the mind, will, heart and conscience. The spirit is the immaterial." - Ron Gometz
